LASKINA ITMO University, St. Petersburg, Russian Federation [email protected] Article history: Abstract Received 6 July 2017 Importance The article studies ratios assessed through cash flows, i.e. cash flow ratio and interest coverage ratio, Received in revised form and their application to capture a more reliable and comprehensive view of the entity's solvency and financial 19 September 2017 sustainability. Accepted 23 October 2017 Objectives The research examines cash flows of the entity as an additional source of information to manage Translated 16 March 2018 corporate solvency. Available online 27 March 2018 Methods The research is based on financial statements of airport operators for the period spanning from 2011 until 2014. I also compare the cash flow coverage ratio and cash interest coverage ratio with traditional ratios, JEL classification: G39, L25, L93 such as current ratio and interest coverage ratio respectively. Conducting a correlation analysis, I trace the nexus between the above pairs of ratios. Results As the research proves, the current ratio and cash flow coverage ratio do not correlate strongly. Users should better use respective cash flow ratios to get more full and accurate information. Relying on their strong correlation, the cash interest coverage ratio can be applied to a greater extent to analyze the financial standing of entities. Conclusions and Relevance As I conclude, if supplemented with the cash interest coverage ratio, the interest coverage ratio can not only provide a broader and deeper view of the entity's financial standing, but also be used Keywords: solvency, current ratio, cash to specify the credit rating of the entity. It will be more adequate and accurate to assign a credit rating on flow coverage ratio, credit rating the basis of the cash interest coverage ratio since it allows for cash flow. © Publishing house FINANCE and CREDIT, 2017 The editor-in-charge of this article was Irina M. Summer Time, begins and ends. A blank DST box usually indicates that the location stays on Standard Time all year, although in some cases the location stays on Summer Time all year. If a location is currently on DST, add one hour to the time in the Time column. To determine how much and in which direction you will need to adjust your watch, first adjust the time offsets of your source and destination for DST if applicable, then subtract the offset of your departure city from the offset of your destination. For example, if you were flying from Houston (UTC−6) to South Africa (UTC+2) in June, first you would add an hour to the Houston time for DST, making it UTC−5, then you would subtract 5 from +2. +2 (5) = +2 + (+5) = +7, so you would need to advance your watch by seven hours. If you were going in the opposite direction, you would subtract 2 from 5, giving you 7, indicating that you would need to turn your watch back seven hours. • Cassation Court: “Anapa” Airport” OJSC Unlawfully Refused to Provide Possibility to “Aeroflot – Russian Airlines” OJ
Cassation Court: “Anapa” Airport” OJSC unlawfully refused to provide possibility to “Aeroflot – Russian Airlines” OJSC for delivering its own fuel in Vityazevo airport 16 августа 2010, 17:31 On 10th August 2010, the Federal Arbitration Court of the Moscow District dismissed the claim of “Anapa” Airport” OJSC and confirmed validity of the decision made by the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia). On 24th June 2009, FAS Russia found that “Anapa” Airport” OJSC violated Part 1 Article 10 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition” (abusing market dominance). FAS did not issue a determination because the company terminated its activities for providing fuel to aircrafts. “Anapa” Airport” OJSC violated the law by refusing to provide “Aeroflot – Russian Airlines” OJSC possibility to deliver its own fuel in Anapa airport (Vityazevo), which resulted or could have resulted in infringing the interests of “Aeroflot – Russian Airlines” OJSC and restricting competition on the market of air transportation. Courts confirming legitimacy of the FAS Russia’s decisions on ensuring access to airport services and infrastructure show development of the necessary law-enforcement practice on the issues of providing access to airport services. FAS Russia fined the company 400,000 Rubles. The fine is being challenged at court. “Such actions of the airport restricted competition by preventing entry of “Aeroflot – Russian Airlines” OJSC to the market of aviation fuel and services for supplying aviation fuel”, says Dmitry Routenberg, the Head of the FAS Russia’s Department for Control over Transport and Communications. “This is yet another case in the series of cases against airports considered by FAS Russia.
