Metric, the machine manufacturer, is taking over the helpdesk facility from Atos Origin. Also note you must quote the Station NLC (National Location Code) when you place your call. The new helpdesk number is 01793 647961. The hours and mode of operation are as follows:– Weekdays (Mondays to Fridays) from 08.00 until 18.00, calls are answered in person by an operator. Weekdays (Mondays to Fridays) from 18.00 until 08.00, callers will be offered a choice to either leave a message including NLC and fault details, or to call back after 08.00 when the call can be taken in person. From 18.00 on Friday until 14.00 on Sunday, callers are asked to leave a message and an on-call engineer will pick up the call. From 14.00 on Sunday until 08.00 on Monday, callers will be offered a choice to either leave a message including machine NLC and fault details, or to call back after 08.00 when the call can be taken in person. You must quote your station NLC when you call the helpdesk; without the NLC they are unable to process your call. This franchise combines Thameslink and the Great Northern part of WAGN into one new Train Operating Company. From a retail perspective several gradual changes will be seen in both retailing systems and retail publications in the coming months. Fares/Fares Manuals No changes to fares will take place on 1 April 2006, although the alpha code which appears against the flow owner (currently TLK and WGN) will become FCC from 11 June 2006 – indeed some systems may show this code change from 1 April 2006. Routed ticket descriptions will change as shown below but due to system constraints these changes will appear in some systems before others. For this reason it is important that ticket inspection staff accept tickets with either route description up until 11 June 2006. The new franchise will be known as First Great Western. The following arrangements apply from 1 April 2006: Dedicated routes Dedicated tickets routed 00820 GREAT WESTN ONLY and 00082 FGW/FGWL ONLY will also be available on former Wessex Trains and former First Great Western Link services. Dedicated tickets routed 00478 AP ATW WE and 00479 AP CTNS ATWWE will also be available on former First Great Western Trains services. As now, Advance Purchase tickets will require reservations on all reservable services. Non-reservable trains are allowed for local connections. First Bus&Rail Card First Bus&Rail Cards will also be valid on former Wessex Trains services within the area of validity of the respective First Bus&Rail Card. New prices apply from 1 April 2006 as follows: One Day First Bus&Rail Card Bath/Bristol/Weston-super-Mare £9 Devon & Cornwall £11 Seven Day First Bus&Rail Card Bath/Bristol/Weston-super-Mare £36 Devon & Cornwall £44 GroupSave £1 Child tickets The £1 GroupSave Child tickets will also be available on former Wessex Trains services. London Paddington Evening Peak Restrictions Former FGW Link services departing London Paddington between 1600-1915 hours will continue to be available without restrictions for holders of off-peak tickets, except 1752 London Paddington-Worcester Foregate Street. This train and all former First Great Western Trains services have additional ticket restrictions in force, see NFM pages E15, E41-E58. These restrictions also apply from Reading for non-London destinations. Annual Gold Card First Class Supplements Subject to the normal time restrictions and the geographic area of validity (Network Railcard area), Annual Gold Card First Class Supplements will be valid on all First Great Western services. The fare will also be available to/from Exeter Central. A Single version will continue to be available at £4.90. Restrictions AM restrictions are in force Monday – Friday: the fare is not valid from Plymouth before 08:45 (first departure 09:00) and after 09:20 from Exeter Central (first departure 09:46, change at Exeter St Davids) or Exeter St Davids (first departure 10:18). The fare is available any time at the weekend or on bank holidays. Discounts Normal Railcard and GroupSave discounts apply, meaning that Railcard holders can make the return trip for just £3.30 and a party of 3 or 4 for only £10! Issuing Full details of the fares can be found below – remember that they must be issued on route 00820 GREAT WESTN ONLY. Otherwise tickets should be issued as for normal Cheap Day products. APTIS users will need to input the fare manually.The fares have been loaded automatically into new generation TIS. This promotion runs from 1 April 2006 until 10 June 2006. Tickets for dates after 10 June 2006 should not be issued.
