For example, components and sub-assemblies incorporated in Westerbeke's products and supplied by others (such as engine blocks, fuel systems and components, transmissions, electri­ cal components, pumps and other products) are generally sup­ ported by their manufacturers with their own software, and Westerbeke must depend on such software for the design of Westerbeke's own product software. Such software may be out­ dated and no longer accurate. Routine changes made by Westerbeke's suppliers, of which Westerbeke rarely has notice in advance, are frequently not reflected in the supplier's software until after such changes take place. Westerbeke customers should also keep in mind the time span between pr intings of Westerbe~e product software, and the unavoidable existence of earlier, non-current Westerbeke software editions in the field. Addi tionally, most Westerbeke products include customer-requested special features that frequently do not include complete documen­ tation. In sum, product software provided with Westerbeke products, whether from Westerbeke or other suppliers, must not and can­ not be relied upon exclusively as the definitive authority on the respective product. It not only makes good sense but is imperative that appropriate representatives of Westerbeke or the supplier in question be consulted to determine the accuracy and currency of the product software being consulted by the customer. 2 INTRODUCTION This manual is a basic guide to the installation, start-up, opera­ tion, maintenance, overhaul and troubleshooting of your Westerbeke gasoline engine driven generator. The information contained within is important to the unit's dependability and service life. A. Read it. B. Keep it in a safe, dry place. C. Keep it handy for reference at all times. Understanding the Gasoline Driven Generator The gasoline engine driving the AC generator is -in many ways simi­ lar to the gasoline engine in your automobile. The cylinders are ver­ tical in line, overhead camshaft chain dr i ven. Solid state type distributor, horizontally mounted, camshaft driven. Pressure type lubrication system with fresh water cooled engine block. Thermostat controlled. It follows therefore to a great extent that the gasoline engine used to drive our generator requires the same preventative maintenance that any intelligent operator would give the gasoline engine in his automobile. The most important factors to unit longe­ vity are proper ventilation, maintenance of the fuel system, ignition system, cooling system and generator end. Care at the factory during assembly and thorough testing have resulted in a Westerbeke gasoline engine driven generator capable of many thousands of hours of depend­ able service. What we as the manufacturer cannot control is the treatment the unit receives in the field. That part is up to you. Ordering Parts Whenever replacement parts are needed, always include the complete part description and part number (see separately furnished Parts List). Be sure to include the engine's serial number along with that of the generator and its model number. Also, be sure to insist upon Westerbeke factory packaged parts, because "will fit" parts are fre­ quently not made to the same specifications

NOTE: This conversion kit requires a 174-9610K2 or 398-9610 stator with 4 yellow wires. WARNINGS: This product is designed for installation by a professional marine mechanic. Connecting a 2 yellow wire stator to one of the regulators will burn out the regulator (NOT covered under warranty). 1. Disconnect the battery negative post. 2. Disconnect the green wires from the ignition coils and the high tension leads from the spark plugs. 3. Disconnect the old regulator/rectifier. 4. Remove the coil plate covering the regulator/rectifier. 5. Remove the old regulator/rectifier. 6. Clean the gasket area where the o-ring sealed the old regulator/rectifier.

    Mercury Battery CD Ignitions with Points 1966-1967 Models 950 and 1100 (With 114-2803/332-2803 Switch Box) (SERVICE NOTE) Check the battery voltage at approximately 3500-RPM. The MAXIMUM reading allowable is 16 volts. Over 16 volts will damage the ignition. Check for loose connections or a bad battery.. Maintenance free batteries are NOT recommended for this application. A CD Tester (CDI Electronics P/N: 511-9701) can be used to test the CD module, distributor cap, rotor button and spark plug wires on the engine. Technical Information: The points set at 0.005 on each set as a preliminary setting. Dwell must be set at 55 degrees with a dwell meter. Engine Wiring Connection for Testing Ignition Module 1. Clean all battery connections and engine grounds. 2. Disconnect the mercury tilt switch and retest. If the ignition works properly, replace the mercury switch. 3. Connect a spark gap tester to the spark plug wires and check for spark on all cylinders. If some cylinders spark and not others, the problem is likely in the distributor cap, rotor button or spark plug wires. 4. Connect a spark gap tester to the high-tension lead coming from the ignition coil and set it to approximately 7/16”. When you crank the engine over, if it sparks while the spark gap tester is connected to the coil and does not spark through the spark plug wires – there is a problem in the distributor cap, rotor button or spark plug wires. 5. Check voltage present on the White and Red terminals (White wire on the 114-2803) while at cranking.

    2005 - Mazda6 - Workshop Manual - Engine DTC P0300 [L3] DTC P0300 Random misfire detection PCM monitors CKP sensor input signal interval time. PCM calculates the change of the interval time for each cylinder. If the change of interval time exceeds the preprogrammed criteria, PCM detects a misfire in the corresponding cylinder. While the engine is running, PCM counts the number of misfires that occurred at 200 crankshaft revolutionsand 1,000 crankshaft revolutionsand calculates misfire ratio for each crankshaft revolution. If the ratio exceeds the preprogrammed criteria, PCM determines that a misfire, which can damage the catalytic converter or affect emission performance, has occurred. Diagnostic support note This is a continuous monitor (Misfire). DETECTION CONDITION MIL illuminates if PCM detects the misfire which affects emission performance in two consecutive drive cycles or in one drive cycle while DTC for the same malfunction has been stored in PCM. PENDING CODE is available if PCM detects the misfire which affects emission performance during first drive cycle. MIL flashes if PCM detects the misfire which can damage the catalytic converter during first drive cycle. FREEZE FRAME DATA is available. DTC is stored in the PCM memory.
