Musca vivipara minor De Geer, 1776 and Musca vivipara major De Geer, 1776 are considered binary and outside nomenclature. The single species-group name ascribed to Siebke is shown to be unavailable. A lectotype of Sarcophaga vertic ina Ringdahl, 1945 [= S. pleskei (Rohdendorf, 1937)] is designated and Brachicoma borealis Ringdahl, 1932 is revised and resurrected as a distinct species. The park’s saproxylic beetle fauna, associated with dead wood and veteran trees, can be considered as nationally important. Sand pit for Biodiversity at Cep II quarry Researcher: Klára Řehounková Research group: Petr Bogusch, David Boukal, Milan Boukal, Lukáš Čížek, František Grycz, Petr Hesoun, Kamila Lencová, Anna Lepšová, Jan Máca, Pavel Marhoul, Klára Řehounková, Jiří Řehounek, Lenka Schmidtmayerová, Robert Tropek Březen – září 2012 Abstract We compared the effect of restoration status (technical reclamation, spontaneous succession, disturbed succession) on the communities of vascular plants and assemblages of arthropods in CEP II sand pit (T řebo ňsko region, SW part of the Czech Republic) to evaluate their biodiversity and conservation potential. We also studied the experimental restoration of psammophytic grasslands to compare the impact of two near-natural restoration methods (spontaneous and assisted succession) to establishment of target species. The sand pit comprises stages of 2 to 30 years since site abandonment with moisture gradient from wet to dry habitats. In all studied groups, i.e. vascular pants and arthropods, open spontaneously revegetated sites continuously disturbed by intensive recreation activities hosted the largest proportion of target and endangered species which occurred less in the more closed spontaneously revegetated sites and which were nearly absent in technically reclaimed sites. Out results provide clear evidence that the mosaics of spontaneously established forests habitats and open sand habitats are the most valuable stands from the conservation point of view. It has been documented that no expensive technical reclamations are needed to restore post-mining sites which can serve as secondary habitats for many endangered and declining species. The experimental restoration of rare and endangered plant communities seems to be efficient and promising method for a future large-scale restoration projects in abandoned sand pits. -

Este insecto ha sido encontrado en diversas localidades de la X Región. Se entregan algunos antecedentes de su biología y de sus plantas hospederas. ABSTRACT The presence in Chile of the holoartic sawfly Ametastegia glabrata (Fallen) is reported. It is a polypha- gous insect, that feed on different cultivated plants and weeds. Stjepan Krčmar U ovom radu je istražen kvalitativni sastav entomof aune na četiri močvarna staništa od me đunarodnog značenja u Republici Hrvatskoj. To su Park prirode Kopački rit, Park prirode Lonjsko polje, Delta rijeke Neretve i Crna Mlaka. Glavni cilj specijalističkog rada je objediniti sve objavljene i neobjavljene podatke o nalazima vrsta kukaca na ova četiri močvarna staništa te kvalitativno usporediti entomofau nu pomoću Sörensonovog indexa faunističke sličnosti. Na području Parka prirode Kopački rit utvrđeno je ukupno 866 vrsta kukaca razvrstanih u 84 porodice i 513 rodova. Na području Parka prirode Lonjsko polje utvrđeno je 513 vrsta kukaca razvrstanih u 24 porodice i 89 rodova. Na području delte rijeke Neretve utvrđeno je ukupno 348 vrsta kukaca razvrstanih u 89 porodica i 227 rodova. Za područje Crne Mlake nije bilo dostupne literature o nalazima kukaca. Velika vrijednost Sörensonovog indexa od 80,85% ukazuje na veliku faunističku sličnost između faune obada Kopačkoga rita i Lonjskoga polja. Najmanja sličnost u fauni obada utvrđena je između močvarnih staništa Lonjskog polja i delte rijeke Neretve, a iznosi 41,37%. -

Die drei mittleren Glieder der Mitteltarsen mit auf- fallend langen posterodorsalen Apikaiborsten, von denen die am 3. und 4. Gliede viel länger sind als diese selbst (Fig. 1, rechts). Hinterschienen innen nur in der Basishälfte mit wenigen Borstenhaaren. Flügel schwach grau- lich getrübt, ohne Randdorn, hintere Querader fast gerade. Schüppchen gelblichweiß, dunkler gelb gerandet, Schwinger gelb. Bei dem Versuche, das ö nach den vorhandenen Tabellen zu bestim- men, wird man immer auf H. fabricii Holmgr. kommen. IDID WORKSHOPWORKSHOP Dolores González Mora Workshop Sarcophagidae • Workshop objectives The specific objectives of the workshop are as follows: – Bring forensic entomologists knowledge about of the Sarcophagidae identification because are very important component of the community sarcosaprophagous (Smith, 1996; Povolny & Verves, 1997). – Accustom to anatomical terminology necessary for identification. • External structures • Male terminalia Povolny & Verves (1997) notice that the problems of identification of the species Sarcophaginae are the cause of the confusion that exist related to forensic cases cited in the literature. – Provide the methodology for the previous preparation to the study of male terminalia. Generally only males of this family can be identified, and most of the time only by examination of dissected terminalia. – Apply the methods discussed in specific cases. Workshop Sarcophagidae Who are they? • Three subfamilies with different breeding habits (Pape, 1998): –Miltogramminae: kleptoparasite or parasite obligate (Senotainia tricuspis). Some species breeding in buried vertebrate carrion (Szpila, Voss & Pape, 2010). –Paramacronychinae: predators on inmatures of bumblebees, mainly prepupae); insect predators and scavengers (Sarcophila and Wohlfahrtia) and some species that produce myiasis in mammals (Wohlfahrtia) –Sarcophaginae: exploit small carrions like dead snails and insects and small vertebrate corpses, some of them may attack wounded or moribund insect-preys, and many are predators of shell-bearing pulmonate snails. Palaearctic Blaesoxipha are obligated insect parasitoids attacking grasshoppers and tenebrionid beetles. A few species breed in large vertebrate corpses, faeces and various types of organic waste.
