We herein report five new records of this species from French Guiana extending its range 650 km to the north-east and sug- gesting that D. leali could be much more widely distributed in Amazonia than previously thought. The origin of such a disjunct distribution pattern probably lies in historical fluctuations of the forest cover during the late Tertiary and the Quaternary. Poor understanding of Amazonian species distribution still impedes comprehensive investigation of the processes that have shaped Amazonian megabiodiversity. Key-words: Dendropsophus leali, Anura, Hylidae, distribution, French Guiana.
