Freshwater resources originating here are vital for all of Suriname. (T. Larsen) Glass frogs (Hyalinobatrachium cf. taylori) lay their eggs on leaves overhanging flowing streams, and are an indicator of the high water quality of the Upper Palumeu River Watershed. (S. Nielsen) The Upper Palumeu River Watershed supports a high diversity of fishes, including this cichlid (Guianacara owroewefi). (T. Larsen) Editors: Leeanne E. Alonso and Trond H.
