HYMN NO. 37 “Infant Holy, Infant Lowly” Keith Rounds

Infant holy, Infant lowly, for His bed a cattle stall; Oxen lowing, little knowing Christ the Babe is Lord of all. Swift are winging Angels singing, Noels ringing, Tidings bringing: Christ the Babe is Lord of all.

Flocks were sleeping; Shepherds keeping Vigil till the morning new. Saw the glory, heard the story, Tidings of a Gospel true. Thus rejoicing, Free from sorrow, Praises voicing Greet the morrow: Christ the Babe was born for you.

CALL TO WORSHIP Isaiah 62:6-12 Donna Mazeika 6 Upon your walls, O Jerusalem, I have posted sentinels; all day and all night they shall never be silent. You who remind the Lord, take no rest, 7 and give him no rest until he establishes Jerusalem and makes it re- nowned throughout the earth. 8 The Lord has sworn by his right hand and by his mighty arm: I will not again give your grain to be food for your enemies, and foreigners shall not drink the wine for which you have la- bored; 9 but those who garner it shall eat it and praise the Lord, and those who gather it shall drink it in my holy courts. 10 Go through, go through the gates, prepare the way for the people; build up, build up the high- way, clear it of stones, lift up an ensign over the peoples. 11 The Lord has proclaimed to the end of the earth: Say to daughter Zion, “See, your salvation comes; his reward is with him, and his recompense before him.” 12 They shall be called, “The Holy People, The Redeemed of the Lord”; and you shall be called, “Sought Out, A City Not Forsaken.

WORSHIP SONGS “He Shall Reign Forevermore”

In the bleak mid-winter, all creation groans For a world in darkness, like a stone Light is breaking, in a stable For a throne

And He shall reign forevermore, forevermore And He shall reign forevermore, forevermore Unto us a child is born The King of kings and Lord of lords And He shall reign forevermore, forevermore

If I were a wise man, I would travel far And if I were a shepherd, I would do my part But poor as I am I will give to Him my heart

SONG “Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire” Pastor Sameh Shaker

“What Child Is This”

What child is this, who, laid to rest, on Mary’s lap is sleeping? Whom angels greet with anthems sweet while shepherds watch are keeping?

Chorus: This, this is Christ the King, whom shepherds guard and angels sing; Haste, haste to bring Him laud, the babe, the son of Mary!

Why lies He in such mean estate where ox and ass are feeding? Good Christian, fear; for sinners here the silent word is pleading. (Chorus)

So bring Him incense, gold, and myrrh; come, one and all, to own Him. The King of kings salvation brings; let loving hearts enthrone Him. (Chorus)

OFFERTORY “Here I Am to Worship” Keith Rounds

SCRIPTURE READING Luke 2:1-20 Donna Mazeika 2 In those days a decree went out from Emperor Augustus that all the world should be registered. 2 This was the first registration and was taken while Quirinius was governor of Syria. 3 All went to their own towns to be registered. 4 Joseph also went from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to the city of David called Bethle- hem, because he was descended from the and family of David. 5 He went to be registered with Mary, to whom he was engaged and who was expecting a child. 6 While they were there, the time came for her to de- liver her child. 7 And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in bands of cloth, and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn. 8 In that region there were shepherds living in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 Then an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for see—I am bringing you good news of great joy for all the people: 11 to you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign for you: you will find a child wrapped in bands of cloth and lying in a manger.” 13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God and saying, 14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace among those whom he favors!” 15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let us go now to Bethlehem and see this thing that has taken place, which the Lord has made known to us.” 16 So they went with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the child lying in the manger. 17 When they saw this, they made known what had been told them about this child; 18 and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds told them. 19 But Mary treasured all these words and pondered them in her heart. 20 The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, as it had been told them.

CHARGE Go out this night in joy and hope, with the song of the angels on your lips to tell: Glory to God in the highest, and on earth, peace. HYMN NO. 40 “Joy to the World” Keith Rounds Joy to the world, the Lord is come: Let earth receive her King; Let every heart prepare Him room, And heaven and nature sing, And heaven and nature sing, And heaven, and heaven, and nature sing. Joy to the world, the Savior reigns: Let us our songs employ; While fields and floods, rocks, hills and plains Repeat the sounding joy, Repeat the sounding joy, Repeat, repeat, the sounding joy.

No more let sins and sorrows grow, Nor thorns infest the ground; He comes to make His blessings flow Far as the curse is found, Far as the curse is found, Far as, far as, the curse is found.

He rules the world with truth and grace, And makes the nations prove The glories of His righteousness, And wonders of His love, And wonders of His love, And wonders, wonders, of His love. BENEDICTION HYMN NO. 29 “Go Tell It on the Mountain” Keith Rounds
