Mary, did you know that your baby boy would save our sons and daughters? Did you know that your baby boy has come to make you new? This child that you delivered, will soon deliver you. Mary, did you know that your baby boy would give sight to a blind man? Mary, did you know that your baby boy would calm the storm with his hand? Did you know that your baby boy has walked where angels trod? When you kissed your little baby then you kissed the face of God. The blind will see, the deaf will hear The dead will live again The lame will leap, the dumb will speak The praises of the Lamb Mary, did you know that your baby boy is Lord of all creation? Mary, did you know that your baby boy will one day rule the nations? Did you know that your baby boy was heaven's perfect Lamb? This sleeping child you're holding is the great, the great “I Am”! Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel, born is the King of Israel. Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel. For all to see there was a star shining in the east beyond them far. And to the earth it gave great light, and it continued both day and night. OLD TESTAMENT 2 Samuel 7:1-11, 16 After the king was settled in his palace and the LORD had given him rest from all his enemies around him, he said to Nathan the prophet, “Here I am, living in a palace of cedar, while the ark of God remains in a tent.” Nathan replied to the king, “Whatever you have in mind, go ahead and do it, for the LORD is with you.” That night the word of the LORD came to Nathan, saying: “Go and tell my servant David, ‘This is what the LORD says: Are you the one to build me a house to dwell in? I have not dwelt in a house from the day I brought the Israelites up out of Egypt to this day. I have been moving from place to place with a tent as my dwelling. Wherever I have moved with all the Israelites, did I ever say to any of their rulers whom I commanded to shepherd my people Israel, “Why have you not built me a house of cedar?”’ “Now then, tell my servant David, ‘This is what the LORD Almighty says: I took you from the pasture and from following the flock to be ruler over my people Israel. I have been with you wherever you have gone, and I have cut off all your enemies from before you. Now I will make your name great, like the names of the greatest men of the earth. And I will provide a place for my people Israel and will plant them so that they can have a home of their own and no longer be disturbed. Wicked people will not oppress them anymore, as they did at the beginning and have done ever since the time I appointed leaders over my people Israel. I will also give you rest from all your enemies. “‘The LORD declares to you that the LORD himself will establish a house for you: Your house and your kingdom will endure forever before me; your throne will be established forever.’” R: This is the Word of the Lord. Let us therefore go to His throne of grace, asking for His forgiveness in Jesus’ name. (Silence for reflection on God's word.) P: We confess our sins to You our Heavenly Father. C: Most merciful God, we know who we are and we confess that we are by nature sinful and unclean. We have sinned against You in our thinking, speaking, and acting, both by what we have done and by what we have not done. We have loved ourselves more than You and the people around us. Our guilt is always with us, but we humbly ask for Your mercy. For the sake of Your Son, Jesus Christ, forgive us, renew us, and lead us, so that Your will becomes ours and our lives give You glory. Amen. God’s Forgiveness is Ours P: Almighty God in His mercy has given His Son to die for you and for His sake He forgives you all your sins. As a called and ordained servant of Christ, and by His authority, I therefore forgive you all your sins in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. C: Amen. A Song of Rejoicing “Joy to the World” Joy to the world the Lord is come!
