If you walk through a field of soft grass a path is formed over time. Whereas, it would take countless trips up and down a stony hillside in order to wear away a trail.
In the same way,
a child’s character can
easily be moulded. Children
need loving care, but at the same
time we should not forget to discipline
them. Faith in God should be instilled in
them as well as love for the entire creation.

Introduction Mata Amritanandamayi Math has a national network of 65 value based schools all over India. Amrita International Vidyalayam is the first International school started and blessed by Her Holiness Satguru Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi.
Amrita International Vidyalayam offers IB PYP curriculum for classes till Grade V. The IB Primary Years Programme (PYP), nurtures and develops young students as caring, active participants in a lifelong journey of learning. Through its inquiry-led, transdisciplinary framework, the PYP challenges students to think for themselves and take responsibility for their learning as they explore local and global issues and opportunities in real-life contexts.
At Amrita International Vidyalayam, we believe that it is very important for children to learn about our Indian culture and heritage to be able to respect and appreciate the oneness and the uniqueness of all cultures of the world.
The effort is to nurture active, involved, compassionate, global citizens who will work together for a shared purpose and take positive action for change.
School Vision: We envision a world that is cloaked in the strength of knowledge that is able to discriminate. We envision a system, which is a healthy breeding ground for the sprouting, culturing and dissemination of the whole gamut of knowledge in a wholesome and holistic manner for the well-being of mankind. We envision a human being empowered with wholesome knowledge, which makes him an enabler and facilitator in the deep search and striving of every human being for that knowledge. We train our learners to be a part of that world by providing a student centric learning. We envision a methodology where there is a great inter play and exchange of ideas, thoughts, feelings and actions which develop people empowered with noble character, and wholesome values. Our learners will be exposed to the attitudes and skills that they will need to become a responsible citizen of the world through a broad based curriculum and engagement in global matters.

Amrita International Vidyalayam, Bengaluru Page 8 May the all-pervasive Goddess of intelligence who is happy with us, who brings prosperity and kindness, visit us, Oh Goddess we were indulging in futile gossip before your visit but now, by your grace we got the talent to speak like disciples, Oh Goddess admired by you, one becomes a Rishi, one becomes the knower of Brahman and attains an abundance of wealth! I pray to that Goddess of intelligence to grant us the various forms of wealth. May Lord Indira grant us the inner knowledge, may Goddess Saraswati grant us intelligence, May the two Ashwins, wearing garlands made of lotus flowers, grant us wisdom, grant us that intelligence for this, our Apsara; let the divine intelligence awaken in us which spreads as the Vedic law and has fragrance, the one who grants intelligence, the one who spreads like perfume; May we realize the Goddess of Knowledge and Wisdom. Let us meditate on the Goddess of Supreme Knowledge and may the Goddess of Supreme Knowledge enlighten us.

Just as a child is obligated to his birth mother, we should all feel an obligation and responsibility towards Mother Nature.”

Amrita International Vidyalayam, Bengaluru Page 53 SEVEN SACRED VOWS
Seven vows that will change your life and the lives of others around you.
Today I will definitely . . .
Sunday - do some community service or help someone without expecting anything in return.
Monday - not express anger towards anyone, speak ill of anyone or complain about any situation.
Tuesday - nurture plants and trees by watering them; feed a bird or an animal.
Wednesday - observe mounam on the way to school and back, refrain from talking.
Thursday - spend atleast half an hour reading about life of a Mahatma or stories from Puranas.
Friday - speak to all with a smile and treat all elders with respect.
Saturday - eat only at regular meal times and not in between; try to feed a poor person by sharing a meal or otherwise.
Kind words, a smiling face, good deeds and benevolent thoughts are the stepping stones to success.
