The most important component of this reserve stands for the Razelm-Sinoe Lagoon Complex placed in the southern part of the Danube Delta. In this work are shown the outmost results of Macrolepidoptera fauna (Insecta: Lepidoptera) of this region, based on faunistic research carried out during 2007-2018, in over 40 collecting trips. 552 species of Macrolepidoptera are listed, and as a new approach, the species are presented according to the most characteristic habitats they can be found in. The most important Macrolepidoptera species in this area are Megaspilates mundataria (Stoll, 1782), Eublemma porphyrinia (Freyer, 1845) and Cucullia argentina (Fabricius, 1787), only to be found in Europe in this region (on The European Union territory). A special attention shall be paid to a series of very rare species, located in this region, that are known in Romania, especially on the territory of the Razelm-Sinoe Lagoon Complex, e.g.: Lasiocampa eversmanni (Eversmann, 1843), Narraga tessularia (Metzner, 1845), Chariaspilates formosaria (Eversmann, 1837), Scopula orientalis (Alphéraky, 1876), Idaea sericeata (Hubner, [1813]), Eupithecia variostrigata (Alphéraky, 1876), Eupithecia biornata (Christoph, 1867), Ocnogyna parasita (Hübner, 1790), Rhyparioides metelkana (Lederer, 1861), Grammodes bifasciata (Petagna, 1787), Clytie syriaca (Bugnion, 1837), Leucania punctosa (Treitscke, 1825), Protarchanara brevilinea (Fenn, 1864), Dychagyris melanura (Kollar, 1846), Cervina (Gortyna) cervago (Eversmann, 1844), Cucullia biornata (Fischer v. Waldheim, 1840), Episema lederi (Christoph, 1885), Saragossa siccanorum (Staudinger, 1870), Saragossa porosa (Eversmann, 1854), Cardepia hartigi (Parenzan, 1981), Agrotis desertorum (Boisduval, 1840) etc.

This study represents a synthesis of recent faunistical results (2012–2015), regarding the Macrolepidoptera of Dobrogea (south-eastern Romania) (Fig. 1A). Records of species of great faunistical and zoogeographical importance for the Romanian fauna are included. Eublemma porphyrina (Freyer, 1844) is reported for the first time in the Romanian fauna. The presence of several species known in the country based exclusively on very old records is confirmed (e.g.Dryobotodes carbonis (F. Wagner, 1831), Eremodrina pertinax (Staudinger, 1879), Zekelita antiqualis (Hübner, [1809])). Certain rare species with few records are also presented, such as Catopta thrips (Hübner, 1818), Sphingonaepiopsis gorgoniades (Hübner, 1819), Grammodes bifasciata (Petagna, 1787), Clytie syriaca (Bugnion, 1837), Symira dentinosa Freyer, 1839, Chazaria incarnata (Freyer, 1838), Protarchanara brevilinea (Fenn, 1864), Polymixis rufocincta (Geyer, [1828]), Gortyna cervago Eversmann, 1844, Dichagyris melanura (Kollar, 1846), Polyommatus (Agrodiaetus) admetus (Esper, 1783), Libythea celtis (Laicharting in Fuessly, 1782), Kirinia roxelana (Cramer, 1777), etc. Several Macrolepidoptera species recorded for the first time in Dobrogea are also included, eg: Hyloicus pinastri (Linnaeus, 1758), Cyclophora quercimontaria (Bastelberger, 1897), Perconia strigillaria (Hübner, 1787), Dryobotodes carbonis (F. Wagner, 1831), Meganephria bimaculosa (Linnaeus, 1767), Cerastis leucographa ([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775), Noctua janthe (Borkhausen, 1792).

The paper contains data about 354 species of owlet moths, collected in 2017–2020 in Kyrgyzstan. This work is based on the examination of 4043 specimens, from which genitalia for 600 specimens were dissected. The following number of species is recorded for various territories of the country for the first time: 12 species for Kyrgyzstan; 27 species for West Tian- Shan; eight species for Central Tian-Shan; 29 species for Inner Tian-Shan; one species for North Tian-Shan; 10 species for Alai. In total, 878 species of moths are known in the fauna of Kyrgyzstan. Due to the intermediate position of Kyrgyzstan between Kazakhstan and Tajikistan we can predict an average species number in Kyrgyzstan as between 950 and 1000 species. Thus, the fauna of Noctuoidea of this country is studied by 80–90% to the present time. Key words: biodiversity, fauna, owlet moths, distribution, Central Asia. • Of Central Dobrogea (Romania)
Travaux du Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle © 31 août «Grigore Antipa» Vol. LV (1) pp. 125–166 2012 DOI: 10.2478/v10191-012-0008-8 THE MACROLEPIDOPTERA (INSECTA) OF CENTRAL DOBROGEA (ROMANIA) LEVENTE SZÉKELY Abstract. This study is a synthesis of the current knowledge regarding the Macrolepidoptera fauna from Central Dobrogea (south-eastern Romania) and it is based on the research done in the area since 2007. Most of the collecting has been done on salt steppes around the large lakes (sea lagoons) Razim (Razelm) and Sinoe (Histria, Plopu-Sarinasuf), but also in forested areas and rocky hills (Babadag Forest, Cheile Dobrogei, Gura Dobrogei, Cetatea Enisala etc.) from Central Dobrogea. The most remarkable results were obtained in the salt steppes (which have been very little studied before). From these areas, due to the research done in the last three years, three species of Noctuidae were published as new records for Romania: Cucullia argentina (Fabricius, 1787), Tarachidia candefacta (Hübner, [1831]) and Leucania punctosa (Treitschke, 1825). Furthermore, there have been found numerous very local and very rare species, which had previously been known in Romania based on very few individuals such as: Phyllodesma ilicifolia (Linnaeus, 1758), Hyles hippophaes (Esper, 1793), Dasycosa modesta (Staudinger, 1879), Megaspilates mundataria (Stoll, 1782), Idaea sericeata (Hübner, 1813), Paradrymonia vittata bulgarica de Freina, 1983, Grammodes bifasciata (Petagna, 1787), Symira dentinosa Freyer, 1839, Episema lederi Christoph, 1885, Saragossa siccanorum (Staudinger, 1870), Cardepia hartigi (Parenzan, 1981), Polia cherrug Rákosy & Wieser, 1997, Chersotis laeta macini Rákosy, Stangelmeier & Wieser, 1996, Chersotis fimbriola niculescui Rákosy, 1997, Diachrysia chryson deltaica Rákosy, 1996, Euxoa cos (Hübner, [1808]), Parocneria terebinthi (Freyer, 1838) etc.

Macrolepidoptera from the steppes of Dobrogea (south-eastern Romania) Levente Székely, Vlad Dincă & István Juhász Abstract. Based on material collected during 2007–2009, we report 225 species of macrolepidoptera from the steppes of Dobrogea (south-eastern Romania). Besides numerous rare species with particular ecological preferences, we report Tarachidia candefacta (Hübner, [1831]) (Noctuidae) and Rhodostrophia discopunctata Amsel, 1935 (Geometridae) for the first time in the Romanian entomofauna. Several taxa of high zoogeographical significance for the Romanian and European fauna are commented. The conservation status and interest of the steppe areas from Dobrogea is brought into discussion.
