Discover our strategy to improve the borough and share your ideas at http://future.lambeth.gov.uk LOCAL NEWS Ever since July 2014, when the Mayor of London granted Lambeth the honour of being one of two Food Matters Food Flagship Boroughs, Gipsy Hill has become a hive of food-related activity. in Gipsy Hill Local residents responded to a public consultation to discuss and address issues relating to food in their area, from local supply to how to encourage the local community to improve the quality of the food they ate. As a result, twelve resident-led, original initiatives were created, all designed to bring the community together and address the issues they had identified. Examples of initiative have included development community market, developing knowledge and capacity of healthy eating projects, supporting young people through an apprenticeship programme, community food growing and working with Incredible Edible Lambeth as well as many other projects. The projects, have attracted considerable interest, including a visit to the market by the Leader of the council, Cllr Lib Peck.
