The Huskers, who enter the weekend with a 6-2 record, will take on March 17-19 NCAA Championships& All Day Utah Valley, Stanford and Brown on Saturday, Jan. 15. NU will have an early start to its’ day with the first match Times are Central: Home matches in Bold *-Big 12 set to begin at 8 a.m. against Utah Valley. The Huskers will then get the afternoon off before taking on Stanford at Conference match; %-Buckeye Duals, Columbus, 4 p.m., and finishing the day against Brown at 6 p.m. Ohio; @-Military Appreciation Day; #-Evanston, Ill.; Nebraska enters the Lone Star Duals after an impressive showing at the Midlands Championships on Dec. 29-30, $Grand Prairie, Texas; ^-Ames, Iowa; &-Philadelphia, in Evanston, Ill. The Huskers were led by senior Jordan Burroughs and sophomore Josh Ihnen, who both earned Pa. a spot in finals of their respective weight classes. Burroughs was able to capture the 165-pound title by upsetting No. 1 Andrew Howe (Wisconsin) by a 10-7 decision, while Ihnen fell to No. 6 Travis Rutt (Wisconsin), 4-3, to take HUSKERS.COM second place at 184-pounds. As a team, the Huskers earned 63 points, which was good enough for ninth place. The Huskers have not participated at the Lone Star Duals since the 2004-05 season, where they collected a Media Information 1-1-1 record. After falling to No. 3 Michigan, 27-12, to open the duals, NU bounced back to defeat No. 22 Navy, Wrestling Contact: Scott Pulverenti 21-12, and tie No. 15 Wisconsin, 19-19. Oliver Tabbed With Second Big 12 Wrestler Of The Week Honor Johnson Making Most of Return to Huskers Jordan Oliver, OSU, So., 133 pounds, Easton, Pa. Senior Andy Johnson is making the most of his return to the Husker lineup after sitting out from competition in Ranked No. 1 in the nation, Oliver was named 2009-10. In his first three seasons as a Husker, Johnson accumulated just four dual wins and 22 victories overall. Outstanding Wrestler at the NWCA/Cliff Keen National This season, Johnson has started every dual at the 197-pound weight class and has earned a 5-3 record during Duals last weekend, going 5-0. Oliver began National the dual season, while claiming 16 victories overall. Johnson has defeated two top 20 opponents so far this season Duals with a 20-5 technical fall win over Purdue’s Akif including No. 20 Brent Haynes (Missouri) and No. 14 Cody Magrum (Ohio State). (Hastings St. Cecilia) - 157/165 December 20: Todd Schavrien, MU, Sr., 141 Austin Wilson will enter his senior season at Hastings St. Cecilia looking to break the all-time career victories January 3: Jordan Burroughs, NU, Sr., 165 record in Nebraska state high school history. Wilson owns a 133-3 career record and would need 39 victories to January 10: Jordan Oliver, OSU, So., 133 break the record of 172. As a sophomore, Wilson finished the season with a perfect 47-0 record while only giving up one takedown and one reversal all season en route to the Class C state title at 130 pounds. In his junior season, the Hastings native was just as impressive, going 48-0 and only being scored on one time. Wilson’s 48 victories as a junior broke an All-Class record for wins a season. Wilson is nationally-ranked as the No. 15 wrestler in his weight division according to WIN magazine. Wilson is set to wrestle at either the 157 or 165 pounds.

Jake Sueflohn, Hartland, Wis., (Arrowhead) - 141/149 Jake Sueflohn has established himself as one of the best high school wrestlers in the country after winning the 2010 Wisconsin Division I state championship at 135 pounds. Sueflohn, a Harland, Wis. Native, is ranked as the No. 4 wrestler in the nation at the 140-pound weight division and is the No. 23 ranked recruit overall according to InterMat. As a freshman, Sueflohn finished third at the state championships at 119, while recording a 50-4 record. His sophomore season saw him finish in the runner-up spot at the 125-pound weight division going 38-5. Sueflohn owns a 146-12 career record. Sueflhon is slated to wrestle at either 141 or 149 pounds.

Donny Longendyke, White Bear Lake, Minn. (White Bear Lake) - HWT 2011 NCAA Championships Donny Longendyke will enter his senior season as one of the most dominate heavyweights in the country after going Hosted by Rider University 47-0 as a junior, while recording 39 pins en route to the Minnesota Class AAA state championship. In his sophomore March 18-20 season, Longendyke recorded a 39-2 mark and a second place finish at the state championships. Longendyke was the No. 2 rated heavyweight recruit in the country according to InterMat, and the No. 25 overall prospect in the country. This summer, Longendyke was most impressive at the USA Wrestling National Championships in Fargo, N.D., where he placed in all five events he entered and earned a spot in the finals twice.
