For any sportsman, country or otherwise, the aging process tends to be a source of frustration. At the ripe old age of thirty-three, I can already think of too many activities that were a breeze even five years ago – diving to stop a cricket ball for example or trotting on a horse for more than a minute. The recovery time is increasingly protracted. I played rugby for the first time in a few years last weekend and I’m still wheezing.
