Who are the Trinity Irish Dance Company? Trinity Irish Dance Company were formed in 1990 by Mark Howard in an effort to showcase Irish music and dance as an art form. The company is made up of 18- 25 year olds, and has received great critical and popular acclaim from audiences throughout the world. They have performed all over the world, and have collaborated with many notable contemporary choreographers and musicians. Trinity holds a unique place in the dance world, offering a highly skilled presenation of progressive Irish step dance. Who is Mark Howard? Mark Howard is the founder and artistic director of the Trinity Irish Dance Company, and choreographs much of the company’s work. Born in Yorkshire, England, and raised in Chicago, Mark Howard began dancing at the age of nine, and later went on to become a North American champion Irish dancer. He started the Trinity Academy of Irish Dance at the age of 17, and dancers from this school have won 18 world titles for the United States at the World Irish Dance Championships in Ireland. Howard wanted to find a way for his dancers to do more than just compete for tropies and prizes, so in 1990 he founded the Trinity Irish Dance Company as a way to showcase Irish music and dances as an art form. Mark Howard continues to choregraph new works for the company, and he has expanded his independent career to work in theater, television, concert and film.

My two supervisors, Elizabeth Butler Cullingford and Barbara Harlow, introduced me to much of the literature and many of the ideas that make up this project. Their direction throughout the process was invaluable: they have been, and continue to be, inspirational teachers, scholars and individuals. Kamran Ali brought both academic rigor and a sense of humor to the defense as he pushed the manuscript beyond its boundaries. Ann Cvetkovich translated her fresh perspective into comments on new directions for the project and Ian Hancock was constantly generous with his resources and unique knowledge of the Irish Traveller community. Thanks too to my graduate school colleagues, who provided constructive feedback and moral support at every step, and who introduced me to academic areas outside of my own, especially Miriam Murtuza, Miriam Schacht, Veronica House, George Waddington, Neelum Wadhwani, Lynn Makau, Jeanette Herman, Ellen Crowell and Lee Rumbarger.

2021 Annual General Meeting 7th February 2021 Patron’s Message What an amazing experience to welcome you all to our 2021 AGM and seminar on Zoom. Sadly, this year, we cannot meet face to face, when I personally enjoy seeing all your beautiful faces and smiles. It is a very challenging situation ahead of us all, to keep our wonderful dancers involved in our beautiful artform, Irish dance, but I feel very confident that together senior members, and the wonderful ideas of newer members, can fulfill all their dreams and aspirations. In these uncertain times, we cannot be certain about when we can have the AIO and Australian championships, due to the pandemic. How this pans out, no one can foresee. Wishing all the very best for the future, stay safe and well. God bless always, your very proud Patron, February 7, 2021 | AIDA Inc. The most rewarding/demanding of my duties has been branding the Center’s annual Trends + Strategies Conference in Orlando from start to finish. Each year industry professionals discuss the future of Real Estate and network with the best in the industry at the Conference. The inspiration for my design approach in branding the Conference came from the idea of making connections.
