Page i FOREWORD The discovery of oil and gas resources presents great socio-economic prospects for the Albertine Graben and the country at large, but the area is of high ecological and biodiversity significance. This presents various challenges for environmental protection. This document presents a report on Strategic Environment Assessment (SEA) of oil and gas activities in the Albertine Graben of Uganda. The SEA document presents strategic recommendations for policies, plans, and programmes that will guide environmental planning and decision making in the Albertine Graben.
