As a Commission, we were faced with exciting but challenging tasks. Firstly, to define what citizenship means to young people. Secondly to increase young people’s participation in politics and promote active citizenship, reflecting the communication preferences of young people. Thirdly, to lead a consultation on whether the voting age should be lowered to 16. -

Lewisham Climate Emergency Strategic Action Plan 2020-2030 1 Joint Foreword by the Mayor of Lewisham, Damien Egan, Cabinet Lead, Sophie McGeevor, and the Young Mayor, Femi Komolafe Society faces a climate and ecological crisis that is the legacy of a generation of inaction. The declaration of a Climate Emergency by Lewisham Council, and hundreds of other organisations up and down the country, is the first step in answer to the call for a new response to this crisis. The difference in the impetus for change is that this call for action has come from citizens, and particularly from young people, internationally, but also here in the borough. Collectively we have an obligation to future generations. We also have a duty to protect the most vulnerable members of our society. Globally, and locally, the oldest, youngest, the least well off and those with health conditions will bear the brunt of a changing climate. As a society our way of living needs to be based around a new contract. A contract that ensures government, business, media, communities and individuals are accountable for their actions and choices, and that we find the way to balance the demands of today against the needs of the future. Meeting this challenge will fundamentally change how we live, but if it is to be successful, this change will not be about giving things up: instead it will be a way to enrich our lives. Taking strong action on energy, carbon and our environment means our air will be cleaner, our homes warmer, we will feel healthier, and we will live in places designed for people with green spaces teeming with life. -

A request for a correction has been received from Winckworth Sherwood on behalf of the Appellant’s in respect of the Secretary of State’s decision letter on the above case dated 3 June 2020. This request was made before the end of the relevant period for making such corrections under section 56 of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 (the Act), and a decision has been made by the Secretary of State to correct the error. 2. There is a clear typographical error in the IR, specifically at IR12.18 where there is an incorrect reference to Phase 4 when the intention was to refer to Phase 3. The correction relates to this reference only and is reflected in the revised Inspector’s report attached to this letter. 3. Under the provisions of section 58(1) of the Act, the effect of the correction referred to above is that the original decision is taken not to have been made. The decision date for this appeal is the date of this notice, and an application may be made to the High Court within six weeks from the day after the date of this notice for leave to bring a statutory review under section 288 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990. -

She served as MP for Lewisham East from 1992 until 2010. She grew up in the east end of Glasgow – a poor part of the city – with her parents, two older brothers, younger sister and extended family nearby. She describes her childhood as a mix of good and bad times. She recalls realising at a young age that some of her friends were even less well off than her family. “My parents instilled in us a sense of what was right and wrong. Draft Explanatory Memorandum
EXPLANATORY MEMORANDUM TO THE REPRESENTATION OF THE PEOPLE (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS 2008 No. DRAFT 1. This explanatory memorandum has been prepared by the Ministry of Justice and is laid before Parliament by Command of Her Majesty. 2. Description 2.1 These Regulations make amendments to: • Parts 7 and 8 of the Representation of the People (England and Wales) Regulations 2001 (S.I. 2001/341) (“the E&W 2001 Regulations”), as amended. • Part 7 of the Representation of the People (Scotland) Regulations 2001 (S.I. 2001/497) (“the Scotland 2001 Regulations”), as amended. 2.2 The purpose of these regulations is to introduce a new fee structure payable by persons who may be supplied with copies of the marked registers of electors, lists of postal voters, proxy voters and proxy postal voters (defined as “marked registers or lists” in regulation 116 of the E&W 2001 Regulations and the Scotland 2001 Regulations). At present, the fee for supply of the marked register or lists produced at Parliamentary or local government elections in England and Wales, and Parliamentary elections in Scotland, is the same as the fee charged for sale of information in the full electoral register. 2.3 Regulation 1 of these Regulations provides for their citation, commencement and extent. Regulation 2 makes transitional provision to ensure that they do not have any effect on a request for a copy of the marked register or lists that was made before the regulations come into force. 2.4 Regulation 4 provides that any marked notices which amended the electoral register used at a Parliamentary or local election are part of the “marked register or lists” (as defined by regulation 116(1) of the E&W 2001 Regulations) which may be supplied in accordance with Parts 7 and 8 of the E&W 2001 Regulations. -

TfL’s responses to the main issues raised are contained in a separate document. Both are available on the TfL website. The London Borough of Bromley is delivering significant changes to the area around Bromley North Village. These improvements include: • An enhanced pedestrian environment with wider footways • New public spaces • Clearer pedestrian signage • Safer crossings 2. The consultation As a result of these enhancements it is necessary to make changes to bus routes and stops in the area as it will no longer be possible for buses to use East Street. We are proposing changes to some of the bus routes that currently serve East Street, Market Square and Widmore Road and also changes to bus stops around Market Square. Affected bus routes Route 138 Bromley North – Coney Hall Route 269 Bromley North – Bexleyheath Route 336 Catford – Locksbottom Route 367 Bromley – Croydon From Bromley North station soutbound, buses on routes 138, 336 and 367 would be rerouted along Tweedy Road direct to Kentish Way, instead of East Street and Widmore Road. Route 269 towards Bexleyheath would be rerouted from Bromley North station, along Tweedy Road direct into Widmore Road.
