We enjoyed our trip north last week, largely thanks to the great hospitality shown by all at the Inverurie club. I was really impressed by their set up and how Wish Bankies their hard-working committee went about their business. all the best It was nice to see so many of our fans make the journey and although they will feel very for season disappointed we didn't win, I hope it didn't detract too much from what was a great day out. 2014-2015 I would also hope that whenever football disappointment comes along fans of this club can keep things in perspective. The past 11 years were not inevitable. They happened because some people showed initiative and many more worked hard. In the history of cup successes there have been times when strong favourites to win ties have struggled in early rounds. At the end of last week's match we were still in the cup and, in football, you have to take that and move on and try to win the replay. I'm sure our players will do all they can to win today and if they are good enough on the day that will happen. I am delighted that the club has received the SFA Quality Mark standard award. Well done to our secretary Matt Bamford who saw through the process to achieve the recognition from the ruling body. The ‘Academy’ parents presented Bobby Mc Donald and John Renwick (pictured left) with a fantastic ‘ball’ trophy during last week-ends’ Awards Ceremony at Hampden Park. Between them, they have contributed almost forty years of effort to the Academy cause. When asked if he could last another ten years Bobby Mc Donald – Director of Football commented ‘Me – no problem, but I don’t know if Renwick could last another ten years – his age seems to be getting the better of him’. We thank you ALL for this fantastic award. • The ‘Academy Champion’ Award – an Award solely selected by the Director of Football was this year awarded to School of Excellence student – Aiden Gray from Bellshill. This award links dedication, to loyalty, to skill, to ambition, to trust, to determination and of course to attitude, attendance and commitment. Well done wee man !! • I would like to take this opportunity of thanking some people with the risk of leaving some individuals out. If I have not included you …then I apologise. I may not name you personally – but you will be in there somewhere.
