Thursday, October 8, 2015 TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS AND PEOPLES JEWELLERS ANNOUNCE MULTI-YEAR PARTNERSHIP TORONTO, ON - The Toronto Maple Leafs and Canada’s number one diamond store, Peoples Jewellers, have announced a multi-year partnership that will commence with the 2015-2016 NHL season. The three-year partnership will see Peoples Jewellers become the Official Jeweller of the Maple Leafs and will feature exciting fan experiences, both in-store and in-arena. A highlight of the partnership is the “Ultimate Penalty Kill” promotion, which will give one Leafs fan at each home game the opportunity to win jewelry from Peoples Jewellers should the Leafs score a short-handed goal during a penalty kill. “We are truly thrilled to be the Official Jeweller of the Toronto Maple Leafs and excited by the unique opportunity we have to deliver memorable experiences for fans and guests,” said Scott Davies, Senior Vice President of Marketing, Peoples Jewellers. “From the interactive in-arena promotions to the special in-store events we have planned, this will be an amazing season both on and off the ice.” In addition to the “Ultimate Penalty Kill” promotion, Peoples will also have a strong in-arena presence at the Air Canada Centre, including branding on the Bremner Board in Maple Leaf Square, concourse signage and executive suite digital screen prominence. Moss Park Redesign Impresses and Divides Design Review Panel September 23, 2016 4:58 pm | by Julian Mirabelli | 13 Comments Public spaces are taking centre stage in Toronto as of late, as the City is investing millions—and possibly even billions—in bringing world-class public spaces to our expanding metropolis. With the recent completion of celebrated spaces such as Sherbourne Common and Corktown Common, to the soon-to-be-complete revamps of Grange Park and Berczy Park, to the high-profile Under Gardiner and Rail Deck Park projects coming our way, Toronto is poised to become an international leader in public space design. Next up on the docket is a complete overhaul of Moss Park, a highly visible—and highly contentious— park at the corner of Queen and Sherbourne Streets just outside the downtown core. Spearheaded by The 519 and funded by all three levels of government, the Moss Park project—affectionately called More Moss Park—aims to completely redesign the poorly organized plot of land to provide more amenities and better services to its diverse group of users. The proposal includes a brand new building by MJM Architects with sports facilities, gathering spaces, and services, and a completely reconfigured park designed by Dutch landscape architects West 8. The concept behind the proposal is one of openness and inclusion, with a host of flexible and multi- purpose programming hoping to cater to the disparate current and future user groups that form the Moss Park community. -

This dissertation was written in English, which is one of the official languages of Canada. Because of its many variations, the English used was the Canadian English, which differs from British or American English, for instance. The units used follow the Metric system, official system used in Canada, with possible references to Imperial system, normally used to define construction materials. The relation between existing buildings and energy efficiency has become a priority when pursuing strategies to reduce the environmental footprint of construction. While cities around the world are density constructed, these existing buildings now have the opportunity to be improved by introducing new technologies and construction methods in response to the changing climate realities. The alternative is demolition to make room for more energy efficient buildings. Toronto is one such city that has experienced changes in density thanks to a hot real estate market. Pursuing the intent of maintaining the historical roots of the city, this document aims to define strategies on renovating existing buildings to make them more energy efficient, through the use of passive systems, and therefore preserving their original style and cultural sustainability for the future. -

MEETING DATE: April 11, 2001 SUBJECT: Dedicated Streetcar Lanes On The 504 King Route RECOMMENDATIONS It is recommended that the Commission: 1. Receive this report for information, noting that: • TTC staff are working with Toronto Transportation Services and City Planning to identify the best way of creating effective, dedicated streetcar lanes on King Street, while fully respecting the needs of the adjacent businesses; • two of the options under consideration at this time are: i) banning all traffic, except streetcars, taxis, and commercial vehicles, from King Street during the busiest traffic hours; and ii) a full-time, permanent solution, with physical modifications to the street, whereby through traffic would be banned at all times, but vehicles would still be able to access each block; and 1. Forward this report to Toronto Transportation Services and City Planning. FUNDING This report has no impact on the Commission’s operating or capital budgets. BACKGROUND At its meeting on February 16, 2001, the Commission considered the TTC's 2001 Operating Budget and approved Commissioner Miller's motion which included, …that staff be requested to report to the Commission regarding… significant transit priority measures for the surface system, in particular streetcars. This report provides a preliminary and partial response only, to that request, and summarizes the status of staff's efforts to provide greater priority for streetcars on King Street. The results of this work are expected to be generally applicable to other streetcar routes. DISCUSSION TTC staff are developing a comprehensive plan to improve transit operations throughout Toronto, identifying ways to make transit faster, more reliable and, ultimately, more competitive with the private automobile. -

REPORT FOR ACTION Draft Delineations for the Protected Major Transit Station Areas within the Downtown Secondary Plan and Draft Citywide MTSA Policy Directions Date: March 30, 2021 To: Planning and Housing Committee From: Chief Planner and Executive Director, City Planning Wards: Ward 10 - Spadina-Fort York; Ward 11 - University Rosedale and Ward 13 - Toronto Centre SUMMARY In June 2020, City Planning initiated the Growth Plan Conformity and Municipal Comprehensive Review ("the MCR") which includes the delineation of 180+ Major Transit Station Areas (MTSAs) to meet Provincial intensification requirements by July 2022. The introduction of Protected Major Transit Station Areas (PMTSAs) is part of the MCR. An equity lens is being applied to this work program that prioritizes the delineation of PMTSAs to enable the implementation of inclusionary zoning as an affordable housing tool, where market conditions could support it. This report presents the policy approach for advancing the implementation of Major Transit Station Areas and Protected Major Transit Station Areas, and the proposed delineations within the Downtown Secondary Plan. This report is intended as the basis for consultation of the draft Official Plan Amendment (OPA) that includes 16 Site and Area Specific Policies (SASPs) that delineate Protected Major Transit Station Areas (PMTSAs) within the Downtown Secondary Plan area. The draft policy directions for the introduction of a new Chapter 8 of the Official Plan will be refined following consultation and brought forward as part of the final Official Plan Amendment. The 16 PMTSA delineations included in this draft OPA would implement the Minister approved Downtown Plan and address the requirements of the A Place to Grow: Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe (2020) (the "Growth Plan") and Section 16(15) of the Planning Act. -

EX9.1 Attachment 4 – Assessment of Ontario Line As directed by City Council in April 2019, City and TTC staff have assessed the Province’s proposed Ontario Line. The details of this assessment are provided in this attachment. 1. Project Summary 1.1. Project Description The Ontario Line was included as part of the 2019 Ontario Budget1 as a transit project that will cover similar study areas as the Relief Line South and North, as well as a western extension. The proposed project is a 15.5-kilometre higher-order transit line with 15 stations, connecting from Exhibition GO station to Line 5 at Don Mills Road and Eglinton Avenue East, near the Science Centre station, as shown in Figure 1. Figure 1. Ontario Line Proposal (source: Metrolinx IBC) Since April 2019, technical working groups comprising staff from the City, TTC, Metrolinx, Infrastructure Ontario and the Ministry of Transportation met regularly to understand alignment and station location options being considered for the Ontario 1 http://budget.ontario.ca/2019/contents.html Attachment 4 - Assessment of Ontario Line Page 1 of 20 Line. Discussions also considered fleet requirements, infrastructure design criteria, and travel demand modelling. Metrolinx prepared an Initial Business Case (IBC) that was publicly posted on July 25, 2019.2 The IBC compared the Ontario Line and Relief Line South projects against a Business As Usual scenario. The general findings by Metrolinx were that "both Relief Line South and Ontario Line offer significant improvements compared to a Business As Usual scenario, generating $3.4 billion and $7.4 billion worth of economic benefits, respectively. -

Intergenerational Synthesis Port Lands Focus Groups Summary Report 2 PROJECT BACKGROUND This summary report provides an overview of user focus groups for the Port Lands Flood Protection project that took place on March 30th, April 2nd and 3rd 2019. The focus groups were held at various locations across the GTA, facilitated by Bespoke Cultural Collective and Groundswell Projects (consultants and collaborators), and were designed in collaboration with Waterfront Toronto’s Communications and Engagement and Planning & Design teams, City of Toronto Parks, Forestry & Recreation staff, as well as key design team members. The focus groups invited important, yet under-consulted, audiences to engage in meaningful and lively conversations around the future of park design in our city, including how to make our public green spaces more inclusive, welcoming and user friendly. This first section of the report, ‘Project Background’, outlines how the focus groups were conceived, how targeted audiences were selected, as well as the agreed upon goals for this consultation activity. 1. OVERVIEW OF PREVIOUS ENGAGEMENT AND CONSULTATION Throughout the development of the Port Lands Flood Protection project Waterfront Toronto has prioritized timely and meaningful consultation with a variety of user groups, including stakeholders, adjacent communities and the general public.
