MINNEAPOLIS (Oct. 29, 2012) – The world’s top professional snowmobile racers – including ’s own Tucker Hibbert (Pelican Rapids), Robbie Malinoski (Lino Lakes) and Duluth’s Bobby “The Rage” LePage – come blazing into Duluth’s Spirit Mountain Nov. 23-25 for the opening round of the 2012-’13 AMSOIL Championship Snocross tour – the AMSOIL Duluth National Snocross - and all hoping to un-seed last year’s ACS champion - Canada’s Tim Tremblay!

The high-flying sport of snocross (‘snowmobile ’) is celebrated as one of the state of Minnesota’s biggest events, and certainly the state’s biggest winter outdoor event. Some 30,000 fans will converge on the city of Duluth’s iconic ski area – Spirit Mountain – on Thanksgiving Weekend to watch the world’s best snowmobile racers flying their factory-backed sleds – many built by Minnesota-based Arctic Cat (Thief River Falls) and Polaris (Medina) – in the natural and man-made snow high above the Duluth skyline.

Created by Visit Duluth in 1992, this long-running event – the longest of its kind in the sport of snocross worldwide – is sanctioned by the International Series of Champions (ISOC) with top pro-am riders competing for the prestigious C.J. Ramstad Memorial Cup. Diehard fans can watch all the action from the outdoor grandstands, evoking a long foregone vista similar to when the Vikings played outdoors at the old Metropolitan Stadium. Fans more in tune with indoor spectating can watch the racing action from indoors Spirit Mountain’s newly renovated chalet.

A manufacturer’s midway that features the latest snowmobile industry products to all sorts of food and beverage options – along with evening fireworks displays – make for a highly memorable weekend of family fun watching the snowmobile races at Spirit Mountain!
