This study was performed to identify the epidemiological trends of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Iran during February 19 to March 22, 2020. Methods This cross sectional study was carried out in 31 provinces by using the daily number of newly infected cases which was announced by the Iranian health authorities from February 19 to March 22, 2020, we explore the trend of outbreak of coronavirus disease in all provinces of Iran and determine some inuential factors such as population size, area, population density, distance from original epicenter, altitude, and human development index (HDI) for each province on its spread by Spearman correlation coecient. K-means cluster analysis (KMCA) also categorized the provinces into 10 separate groups based on CF and ACF of the infected cases at the end of the study period. (ACF). Results There were 21,638 infected, 7,913 recovered and 2,299 death cases with COVID-19 in Iran during the study period.

The result of research indicates that bioclimatic maps of Semnan Province have remarkable differences in formation of dominant types quantities in summer and winter. Generally mentioned types are restricted to three types in winter and seven types in summer. K1, K2 and K4 types are formed because of outward climatical factors in winter. For the purpose of C2, M2, M3, W3 and W4 are five types effected by both outside and local factors in spring. Seven types (H3, H4, H5, M1, M3, W3, W4) are formed solely on the basis of local factors (outside and local) three bioclimatical types (M3, M1, C2) dominate in fall. Key words: Bioclimatic, Terjung, Peace coefficient, Wind-chill, Regionalization, Semnan Province.

The region under investigation in Semnan Province is located in the northwestern margins of Dasht-e Kavir in Iranian Plateau. It was investigated primarily in 1980s and 1990s by Iranian archaeologists. From 2009, The Paleolithic Survey of the Iranian Central Desert Project (PSICDP) was established in order to evaluate the Paleolithic potential of the region, as a result of which Palaeolithic sites were documented and their surface collections were published. The current survey was conducted as a part of PSICDP project in autumn 2017. As a result, 12 caves and rock shelters were recorded, despite the promising condition of which only one had evidence from Palaeolithic Period. Anzo Cave, in northwest of Mehdishahr, was the only cave which yielded few number of chipped stones on the outer slope of the cave. The results of this survey raise the possibility that movement patterns of Palaeolithic hunter-gatherers in the region included seasonal-vertical movements between mountainous area in the north and southern lowlands.

Wiadomości Entomologiczne 36 (1): 25–31 Poznań 2017 Contribution to the study of darkling beetles (Coleoptera: Tenebrionidae) from Golestan Province, Northern Iran Materiały do poznania czarnuchowatych (Coleoptera: Tenebrionidae) prowincji Golestan w północnym Iranie 1 2 Marek BUNALSKI , Hassan GHAHARI 1 Department of Entomology and Environmental Protection, University of Life Sciences, Dąbrowskiego 159, 60-594 Poznań, Poland; email: [email protected] 2 Young Researchers and Elites Club, Yadegar-e- Imam Khomeini (RAH) Shahre Rey Branch, Islamic Azad University, Tehran, Iran; email: [email protected] ABSTRACT: This paper deals with a faunistic research on Tenebrionidae (Coleoptera) from Golestan Province. In total, nine species from five subfamilies of Diaperinae, Lagriinae, Opatrinae, Pimeliinae, and Tenebrioninae were collected and identified. Blaps gigas (LINNAEUS, 1767) is a new species for Iranian fauna. KEY WORDS: Coleoptera, Tenebrionidae, darkling beetles, fauna, Iran, Golestan Prov. Introduction Darkling beetles (Coleoptera: Tenebrionidae) are mostly rather large and flightless, although a few species living in rotten wood and in stored products are small. With more than 15.000 known species, darkling beetles are one of the most common members of the beetle, or coleopteran, community (SOLDATI & SOLDATI 2003, MATTHEWS & BOUCHARD 2008). They can be found in desert or semidesert regions all over the world. They burrow under the stones, bark, and leaf litter. The great majority of these insects are scavengers (SCHAWALLER 1996; BOUCHARD & al. 2005). The fauna of Iranian Tenebrionidae has been poorly studied so far with 67 reported species by different researchers (MODARRES AWAL 1997; MEDVEDEV & MERKL 2005; TARAVATI & FERRER 2007, SAKENIN & al. 2009; GHAHARI & al. 2010a, 2010b, 2012; GHAHARI & BUNALSKI 2011; 26 M.
