After the great success of the 2015 ICF Final last August, we are ready to offer you a new pleasant moment of sport and culture. From 16th to 19th June 2016, the Pau-Pyrénées whitewater stadium will welcome the 3rd step of 2016 Canoe Slalom World Cupand the 2016 Sprint & Classic Final World Cup. These competitions will be the last event before the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, so it will be the place for the last confrontation among the best ones. As Pau is a well-known canoe place, it should gather a large number of delegations from all around the world. It will be an opportunity for the general public to come again and experience our spectacular dis- ciplines and discover all the various athletes preset for the Olympic Games. The city of Pau and its metropolitan area has a big sporting culture and has already proved their abilities to host event at the highest level : Tour de France (cycling), CCI 5* (riding), ... and for ca- noe slalom three ICF World Cup stages (2009, 2012, 2015). Designed to welcome the double world cup in 2016 and the double world championship 2017, the Pau-Pyrénées whitewater stadium will live two exceptional moments, in the presence of the world elite of this discipline confidentially connected to our city. In 2017, they will be there not less than 40 nations, 5 days of competition, 500 athletes competing and 35 000 spectators expected! Building on the success of the 2015 edition with more than 22 000 spectators, Pau 2016 prepares you a magic programme with the presence of new sport events in Wildwater Canoeing and Ca- noe Boarder Cross. The Whitewater Festival looks also extremely beautiful with new animations and free concerts of very high level in full period of the French music festival. The world cup of Pau 2016 will look unforgettable, our objective is to propose you a unique expe- rience in a festive and friendly atmosphere.

The French Embassy in your country will pro- vide you with all details information about visas. You will find details in the website of French Foreign Affairs Ministry (http://www.diplomatie.gouv.fr/en/). Please inform in advance but not later than 1st May 2016 the organising committee together with the visa form whether your team needs entry visas to France. You will find in appendix a visa form to fulfil. special regulations in france Evin law (N91-32 January 10th 1991) This law forbids advertising for alcoholic beverage (any level of alcohol including beer) and tobac- co inside sport arena (Canoe Slalom stadium is a sport arena). No advertising on tracksuits, boat, paddles, ..., is allowed.

Protection of athletes health law (N99-223 March 23rd 1999) Specific doping regulations on French territory. safety rules Canoe Slalom Each competitor must wear a safety helmet with a strap fastened under the chin and a buoyancy jacket (article 19.2, ICF Canoe Slalom rules). A buoyancy jacket must comply with the current industry standard that meets ISO 12402-5 (level 50) or any national standards that meets the same requirements and be ICF registered (article 19.2.1, ICF Canoe Slalom rules). The safety helmet must comply with EN 1385 and be ICF registered (article 19.2.2, ICF Canoe Sla- lom rules).

Wildwater Canoeing Concerning safety helmet and buoyancy jacket, requirements are the same for both disciplines. Please refer to articles 18.2 to 18.2.2 into ICF Wildwater Canoeing rules. All paddlers must wear shoes on their feet. Shoes must have a thicker sole to protect feet. However 4 boats must have qualified via the ICF Ranking of the previous sea- son. By October 1st the year preceding the ICF competitions, the Canoe Slalom committee will published the ICF Ranking along the qualified quotas for each national federation for the fol- lowing year’s World Cup competitions.

Numerical entries You will find in appendix a form for numerical entries. It will be opened from 1st February until 1st April 2016 into ISIS software.

Nominal entries Nominal entries must be received 14 days prior to the first day of competition of each respective World Cup according to article 44.3.2 in ICF Canoe Slalom rules. Nominal entries mist be processed via ISIS software (www.canoeicf.com). All nominations send after 2nd June will have to be accepted by the Chairman of Canoe Slalom committee (Jean-Michel PRONO) according to ICF Canoe Slalom rules.

Wildwater Canoeing According to ICF Wildwater Canoeing rules, in article 39.3, national federation may enter up to 6 boats per category to take part in the World Cup. There will be no team events held. A competitor may enter 2 different individual events in individual Classic and Sprint races.

Nominal entries Nominal entries must be received 14 days prior the first day of competition of each respective World Cup according to article 39.3 in ICF Wildwater Canoeing rules.

Which framework ? • Head to head, 4 boats competiting together a maximum for the final phase • Kayak boat only, one female and one male event • Same boat for all at the competition (plastic from recreational market) • Spectacular start line but fair, ramp when possible • Course marked with special gates (or obstacles), it imposes a spectacular trajectory with op- tions but using extreme whitewater features of the particular course • Two symmetric upstream gates on same line or close (athletes chose which one they nego- ciate) • Eskimo roll zone • Time duration around 45 seconds long • No timing of the head to head series. It is possible that individual time trials are organised to qualify the start field of the head to head phase and built the bracket • No penalty touch, elimination for for gate (obstacle) missed
