At the outset, I would like to congratulate the Hon‟ble Chief Minister and his Cabinet Collegues, State Executive Committee headed by the Chief Secretary, all front line Covid warriors, Officers and officials who successfully controlled the spread of COVID-19 (pandemic) in the State. Though the State has suffered a lot in terms of Socio-Economic & Infrastructure development taking a backseat in the Covid times, but due to systematic planning, regular monitoring and instantaneous corrective measures by the State administration, the State is now gaining momentum in its activities from micro to macro level and is nearing complete normalcy. The Hon‟ble Prime Minister has announced “Atmanirbhar Bharat- Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana” in the country, which has extended handholding support to all States for the survival of various sections of people of the society with unity and integrity 2 “Ek Bharat–Shreshtha Bharat”.

It has failed to listen to the Voice of the People and protect the Environment, Forest and Wildlife of Goa by scrapping the Three Linear Projects of Railway Double Tracking, Expansion of National Highway and Laying of Power Transmission Line, which are all intended to only cater to transportation of coal through Goa. 2. The Government failed to honour the Freedom Fighters and their families during the 60th year Celebrations of Liberation of Goa. It is most unfortunate that multiple Crores were spent on the extravaganza of the Goa Liberation Day on 19th December 2020 and the Freedom Fighters and their families who made it possible for all of us to see this day were not even invited for the function. It is unfortunate that in the 60th year of Goa Liberation, the Freedom Fighters and their families had to sit on Dharna and Hunger till Death demanding Jobs for Children of Freedom Fighters. The Government’s lack of sincerity about celebrating Goa’s Liberation is evident from its failure to sanction funds for the renovation and beautification of Margao’s Lohia Maidan, in spite of all formalities of tendering and awarding the work have been completed more than a year ago.
