It is most unfortunate that multiple Crores were spent on the extravaganza of the Goa Liberation Day on 19th December 2020 and the Freedom Fighters and their families who made it possible for all of us to see this day were not even invited for the function. It is unfortunate that in the 60th year of Goa Liberation, the Freedom Fighters and their families had to sit on Dharna and Hunger till Death demanding Jobs for Children of Freedom Fighters. The Government’s lack of sincerity about celebrating Goa’s Liberation is evident from its failure to sanction funds for the renovation and beautification of Margao’s Lohia Maidan, in spite of all formalities of tendering and awarding the work have been completed more than a year ago.
