On the side and main stage, over 15 bands performed all day long. Bands such as Showoff, Stroked and Marvelous 3 put on raucous sets on the side stage. At the same time, incredible performances by the U limmie's Chicken Shack, Pennywise, Powerman 5000 and headlincr Kid Rock thrilled the crowd on the main stage. Showoff played thirty minutes of in-your-face punk that included a healthy dose from their latest release. Their performance also included a retro, ballsy version of Boston's 70s classic "More Than A Feeling" to a ska/punk-loving crowd. Marvelous 3 performed an ecstat ic punk show that deviated trom their normal melodic sound. Their showmanship was Barnum-esque on "Every Monday" and "Freak of the Week." They also performed a harder version of the '80s cover "Always Somebody There to Remind Me" But it wasn't till Pennywise came on to the main stage that the festival picked up steam. Seeing that most ofthe front seats were not filled and that the lawn seats were packed, they told security to let everybody from the lawn seats move forward. "The front seats shouldn't be just for special people, it should he tor everybody," said guitarist Fletcher Dragge as the crowd cheered and stormed to the front. The hundreds of people who raced to the front at one time nearly gave the security a heart attack, but the band was satisfied with how filled the front seats were after their request.
