Travel Guide in Veszprém County Hungary on 11.A’S Recommendation Imre BRODY Grammar School
BRODY IMRE SECONDARY GRAMMAR SCHOOL 4. BRODY STREET AJKA 8400 HUNGARY Travel Guide in Veszprém County Hungary on 11.A’s recommendation Imre BRODY Grammar School Places to visitvisit: Badacsony, Balatonederics, Balatonfüred, Devecser ,Keszthely, Kislıd, Kup, Magyarpolány, Sümeg, Tapolca, Tihany, Vörösberény 10th June 2010, Ajka Badacsony by Márton Makkay Badacsony lies in the north of Lake Balaton. Four towns make up this region: Badacsonylábdihegy, Badacsonyörs, Badacsonytördemic and Badacsonytomaj. But when Hungarians say Badacsony, they usually mean the little resort at the Badacsony train station, near the ferry pier southwest of Badacsonytomaj. Badacsony is thrice-blessed. Not only does it have the lake for swimming and the mountains for wonderful walks and hikes, but it has produced wine - lots of it - since the Middle Ages. The most fa- mous wines are Szürkebarát and Kéknyelvő. On the mountain of Badacsony we can see some basalt organs which also attract a lot of tourists. I have a personal attachment to Badacsony. From 1995 to 2009 my family had a summer house in Badacsonytomaj. We spent there a lot of memorable moments. Unfortunately last year we had to sell this house. However, this summer I will visit Badacsonytomaj again because it is a great place to relax and I can recommend it to every- body who want to spend a few calm days here with his/her family or friends. Brody Imre Secondary Grammar School 4. Brody Street Ajka 8400 Hungary Balatonederics by Anett Merse Balatonederics is situated on the North side of Lake Balaton near Keszthely. The village is famous for its well-known museum called 'Africa Museum'. -
Geologica Hungarica. Series Geologica
A REVIEW by J. H aas Lying on the southwestern margin of the Bakony, between the Little Hungarian Plain (Kis alföld) and the Tapolca Basin, where mountains and plain meet, Sümeg is a favourite touristic highlight abounding with cultural and historical monuments of the Lake Balaton region (Fig. 1). Few of the visitors to and even of the residents of Sümeg are aware of the opulence with which this region has preserved the records of the geological past, the traces and marks left over by geological phenomena. The diversity of geological formations is worthy of attention not only from scientific viewpoint, but some of them can be exploited as raw materials for the building industry and aluminium industry, proving eventually suitable for being used even to fuel future power plants. As evidenced by archeo logical finds, the Mogyorós-domb to the south of the town was the scene of an extensive flint mining already in prehistoric times. Geoscientists have for a long time been aware of the geological significance of the area. In his travelogue of Hungary published in 1825, Beud ant, the famous French geologist, did already mention some formations from the study area, describing limestone beds with Hippurites and Radiolites from the vicinity of Sümeg. The first regular geological survey was carried out in the 1870’s. On the 1:144,000-scale map of János B öckh published in 1875 the geological features and the major formations of the Mesozoic block of Sümeg were already well outlined. The discovery of the Upper Cretaceous coal seams of Ajka also falls in the fifties of the last century and this development pushed the exploration of the Sümeg area, with its geology similar in many respects to the former, into the fore. -

Debrecen 2004 Florisztikai adatok a Bakon yból és a Bakonyaljáról II. BAUER Norbert H-8420 Zirc, Egry J. u. 8. E-mail: [email protected] Jelen közlemény BAUER (2001) florisztikai adatközlésének folytatásaként a Bakony-hegység és a Bakonyalja flórájának jobb megismeréséhez kíván hozzájárulni, a 2002, 2003 években folytatott florisztikai adatgyûjtés néhány eredményével. A dolgozatban közlésre kerül néhány a kutatott területrõl még nem jelzett taxon (pl. Leucojum aestivum, Montia fontana subsp. minor, a Bakonyaljáról, Hippuris vulgaris a Déli- Bakonyból, Limosella aquatica, Galinsoga quadriradiata a hegység több pontjáról), számos ritkább, ill. szórványos elterjedésû, növényföldrajzi szempontból jelentõs növény (Anemone sylvestris, Helleborus dumetorum, Prunus fruticosa, Ononis pusilla, Euphorbia angulata, Viola collina, Scrophularia vernalis, Corydalis intermedia, Primula × brevistyla, Silene bupleroides, Poa badensis, Agropyron pectiniforme stb.) néhány újabb adata. A felsorolt növények közt viszonylag szép számmal szerepelnek ritkább gyom, ill. gyom jellegû taxonok pl. Myosurus minimus, Vicia pannonica subsp. striata, Polycnemum majus, Euphorbia falcata, E. exigua, Teucrium botrys, Papaver argemone, Erysimum cheiracanthoides, Pseudognaphalium luteo-album, Herniaria hirsuta, Gagea arvensis, Carex hordeistichos, Aegilops cylindrica, Panicum capillare, Leersia oryzoides. Az enumerációban néhány viszonylag gyakoribb – de kevés publikált adattal rendelkezõ, vagy terjedõben lévõ, ill. védett – faj néhány újabb adatát is közöljük. Az adatok megadásakor a helységnevet a dûlõnév ill., ha ilyen nincs a lelõhely körülírása követi, egyes adatok esetében az állományra, termõhelyre vonatkozó megjegyzésekkel. A taxonok új (ill. esetenként megerõsített régi) adatainak felsorolását követõen zárójelben szerepelnek korábbi adatainak hivatkozásai.
