The 2014 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour calendar will feature FIVB-record ten Grand Slam events along with the 2014 FIVB Beach Volleyball Grand Slam Finale. In addition The FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Calendar also includes ten Open events spread throughout the world to help open the door for development of the sport along with four age-group FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships and the inaugural Youth Olympic Games. The schedule starts in April in China and concludes in December in South Africa. 2014 marks the 28th anniversary of the first FIVB Beach Volleyball event held February 17-22, 1987 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. · The US$800,000 FIVB Stavanger Grand Slam is the fourth of ten Grand Slam events on the 2014 FIVB Beach Volleyball season calendar.
