The design road is crossed by 9 culverts of different lengths, 2 of which need replacement and 7 has to be rehabilitated. The ditches are to be arranged along the road, and the existing road side ditches need cleaning and upgrading to function. Some technical characteristics of the existing road are as follows: • Roadway width 5-9 m • Carriageway width 5 m • Shoulder width 0-2 m. The design alignment follows the existing route. Aiming at avoiding the encroachment upon the property or land occupation, the transitional curves are designed for the densely populated areas improving the safety and traffic comfort. Good Governance for Local Development South Caucasus - Georgian Component Approach, Objective and Key Outputs Commissioned by: German Federal Ministry for Economic Good Governance for Local Development (GGLD), South Cau- Cooperation and Development (BMZ) casus is a regional technical assistance project operating in Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia. It is designed to strengthen Partner Agencies: Ministry of Regional Development and institutional and human partner capacities, particularly at Infrastructure of Georgia (MRDI), Ministry of Finance of the sub-national level. Its objective: public institutions in the Georgia (MoF) South Caucasus are better able to provide citizen-oriented public services. Commissioning Period: April 2020 – March 2023 GGLD is part of the regional Good Governance South Cauca- Budget: 6.8 million EUR sus programme following a holistic approach to strengthen good governance principles. GGLD specifically promotes gen- der equality and citizen participation in local decesion-mak- ing processes and thereby aims for needs-based, systemic and sustainable reforms. The project also supports the im- plementation of the Agenda 2030 on the local level through Challenges and Opportunities all its outputs. Current EPF Grants The Georgian Union of Mountain Activists $17.868 Georgia (Tbilisi) 08/25/2009 - 01/10/2010 To attract tourists to Upper and Lower Svaneti by establishing four new tourist routes of different length and difficulty that meet international standards and requirements. The project envisages covering those areas of Svaneti that have not been involved in tourism development activities. The Georgian Union of Mountain Activists (GUMA) will implement a three-month long project to map and mark four tourist routes and conduct a promotional campaign. With this aim, GUMA will prepare and print special booklets on new routes that will be disseminated among all stakeholders. In addition, the relevant information will be placed on www.svanetitrekking.ge. In the long run, the project will contribute to improving the socio-economic situation of the local population through their involvement in income generating activities. Human Rights Priority $19.995 Georgia (Tbilisi) 09/05/2009 - 09/04/2010 To develop and strengthen a method of strategic litigation as an effective mean for protection of human rights by using the method for protection of rights of the citizens affected by 2008 August war. The project is the first in Georgia attempt to apply method of strategic litigation to the national courts with respect to victims of war. The project will use the method of exhaustion of domestic remedies in protection of rights of the civilians -IDPs affected by the Russo-Georgian war in August 2008 and then file their cases to the European Court for Human Rights. Thereby the project will establish precedent of strategic litigation in the local legal practice and will provide vitally important legal assistant to the IDPs- victims of the war to reinstate them in their rights. -

Local Economic Development Plan „Together for Lagodekhi“ Lagodekhi Municipality Georgia 2019 Preface from Mayor Lagodekhi Municipality is a future-oriented municipality with great potential to develop economy. My main objective is to promote economic growth and business development in the municipality. Geographical location, climate conditions, plenty of natural resources, tourism facilities, historical and architectural monuments, road infrastructure, municipal services, relief and productive soil, diverse ethnic and cultural traditions, hospitable population and many other positive factors in the municipality increase the investment potential and provide the basis for economic development of Lagodekhi. Therefore, I will make every possible effort using all the available resources to make Lagodekhi municipality attractive to different sectors of society both for investing and for involvement in various economic activities, life and recreation. I pay particular attention to the cooperation with the municipality population. The desire to unite our society and engage them in the processes that take place in the municipality is one of the major challenges of the local government. This implies combination around a common principle, which is the economic growth and development, infrastructure arrangement, ensuring necessary living conditions for the population. By joining this EU initiative (M4EG), the local authorities of Lagodekhi municipality expressed their desire and readiness to share the experience of our partner countries, actively cooperate with all stakeholders to plan future activities, promote economic growth of the municipality and provide employment opportunities. It is a great honour and responsibility for us to cooperate with the European Union, since we recognize the importance and need of governance principles that have already been successfully introduced and implemented in EU member states. -

WHO DOES WHAT WHERE IN DISASTER RISK REDUCTION IN GEORGIA Second edition March 2010 Georgian National Committee of Disaster Risk Reduction & Environment Sustainable Development FOREWORD Georgia is a highly disaster-prone country, which frequently experiences natural hazards (e.g. earthquakes, floods, landslides, mudflows, avalanches, and drought) as well as man-made emergencies (e.g. industrial accidents and traffic accidents). Compounding factors such as demographic change, unplanned urbanization, poorly maintained infrastructure, lax enforcement of safety standards, socio-economic inequities, epidemics, environmental degradation and climate variability amplify the frequency and intensity of disasters and call for a proactive and multi-hazard approach. Disaster risk reduction is a cross-cutting and complex development issue. It requires political and legal commitment, public understanding, scientific knowledge, careful development planning, responsible enforcement of policies and legislation, people-centred early warning systems, and effective disaster preparedness and response mechanisms. Close collaboration of policy-makers, scientists, urban planners, engineers, architects, development workers and civil society representatives is a precondition for adopting a comprehensive approach and inventing adequate solutions. Multi-stakeholder and inter-agency platforms can help provide and mobilize knowledge, skills and resources required for mainstreaming disaster risk reduction into development policies, for coordination of planning and programmes,
