Pastor’s Notes: There is Elizabeth and Catherine of Genoa, and the Happy Mother’s Day to all those who are and have list goes on and on. Their great gift is that they mothers! I have the privilege of baptizing and were able to use the “holy office of celebrating first Holy Communion with many motherhood” (my father’s words) to influence the children and their families this month. In addition, it lives of their children and families in a unique and is wedding season and we have brides and grooms profound way. And it is still happening from where with smiles as large as the bill for the reception hall I sit. I have the privilege of watching moms and coming to the church to ask God to bless them and to dads shepherd their children to know God, to learn celebrate the sacrament of marriage as they set out in of the Church and her teachings and to put them life together. This is the season of sacraments, the into use in life. Mothers are special people and it is time in which the church seems particularly suited to fitting that we take time out to honor our mothers, welcome all those celebrating major events and thank them for their sacrifices and remember their transitions in their lives. There are lots of details to positive influence on us. attend to and I know that there has been a plethora of In the church today we are still dependent on many mothers praying, planning, and preparing for many people allowing the Lord to use them as his holy of these great events. At the church we are blessed vehicles, conduits of His grace and love. I also with some wonderful volunteers, many of them know that there are many mother figures in our mothers who have generously given their time and lives. We should give thanks to them also for what talents to make sure that all the children are ready. they have given us in their wisdom and love. The dresses and suits, tuxes and gowns are all part of Robert Wicks, a pastoral psychologist say in his the way in which we celebrate and make our mothers book, “Touching the Holy” we all need a prophet and fathers proud. With the weddings, it is clear that to tell us the truth, a cheerleader to offer us parents are joy filled as they come to the church unconditional support and a wisdom figure to guide proudly to participate indirectly and let their children and form our interior lives. Thanks Mom, at times I now move into their own marriages. Their influence have seen all three roles in your words and actions. working in concert with God’s Grace has brought Thanks to all those who have had these roles and them to this moment. There are solid roots in our bravely took them on for their own or for other’s church for this. It was Mary who said that she would children. We hope that you get breakfast in bed, the take a chance that God would use who she was and blessing of rest and the joy of your families her faithfulness to change the course of history. She presence. Happy Mother’s Day questioned a few of the details and then allowed the Peace, Father Murray Lord to use who she was/is and this changed everything. This is just one of the reasons that mothers are special. They have taught us many things and among them the importance of cooperating for the sake of a greater gift. Cooperating with God brings heavenly treasures and some them we experience on earth. The church remembers great mothers such as Mary of course, but also Monica, the mother of St. Readings for today’s Mass begins on page 159 of Augustine, who was converted through her prayers. It is the fifth of the Romance languages in terms of number of speakers. It is spoken as a first language by somewhere around 24 to 26 million people, and enjoys official status in Romania, Moldova and the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina (Serbia). The official form of the Moldovan language in the Republic of Moldova is identical to the official form of Romanian save for a minor rule in spelling. Romanian is also an official or administrative language in various communities and organisations (such as the Latin Union and the European Union – the latter as of 2007). It is a melodious language that has basically the same sounds as English with a few exceptions. These entered the language because of the slavic influence and of many borrowing made from the neighboring languages. It uses the Latin alphabet which makes it easy to spell and read.

  • Each Day of a Week Dedicated to a Particular Hindu God
Each Day of a Week Dedicated to a Particular Hindu God In Hinduism, each day of a week is dedicated to a particular god in the Hindu pantheon. Apart from the special Vratas and Upvaas, many Hindus also fast on a particular day in a week. Each day in a week has a specialty and there are numerous folklores associated with the fasting observed on the days of a week. Sunday Sunday is dedicated to Lord Surya (Sun God). Those who undertake fast (upvaas) on the day only take a single meal. Oil and salt is avoided. Red is the color of the day and red flowers are offered to Surya Ravivar, or Sunday, is dedicated to Lord Surya or Suryanarayana. Upvaas or fasting on the day is dedicated to the Sun God. Red is the color of the day. Those people who undertake fast on the day only eat food once that too before sunset. Salt, oil and fried food items are avoided. Red color flowers are offered while praying. Red color sandalwood paste is applied as tilak on forehead. Extra care is given on cleanliness of the body and surrounding. It is believed that Ravivar Vrat will help in fulfilling desires. People with skin diseases observe the Vrat to get relief. Many devotees also give alms on the day. Monday Monday is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is said that Lord Shiva is easily pleased. Therefore many people observe Upvaas on Monday. Those devotees observing fast only eat food once. People visit Lord Shiva shrines and conduct pujas, especially, Ardhanarishwara puja.
