Advances in science and medicine has been able to change the paradigm of health. Science and medicine has developed following the advancement in research and multimodal examination procedure. Here, science about probiotics, prebiotics, and microbiome, all in translational research and clinical practice has contributed a considerable portion of that advance in science and medicine. Hence, updates about probiotics, prebiotics, and microbiome science are needed to face these global advancements.
To facilitate students, general practitioners, pediatricians, researchers, and professionals in the eld of probiotics and prebiotics, Gastroenterology Division, Department of Child Health, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Airlangga, Dr. Soetomo General Hospital Surabaya, collaborated with Indonesian Scientic Society on Probiotics and Prebiotics (ISSPP) will hold an international symposium The 5th International Symposium on Probiotics and Prebiotics 2018. This event will be attended by pioneer and international experts in prebiotics, probiotics, and microbiome eld. Activities including seminars and scientic presentations will be held in this symposium. The goals of this symposium include the following: 1. To create international forum for every participants who has interest in the eld of probiotics and prebiotics 2.
