What do you like / enjoy most about Riverfront Park? Response Count 742 Answered question 742 Skipped question 129 Number Question 4 Response Text 1 It's family friendly. 2 Concerts, events, kids playspace 3 I enjoyed the ice rink and the open space. 4 Close to city center walking/running/biking paths and the amphitheater So many things to enjoy - including all of the items in the last question - that it is nearly 5 impossible to choose a favorite. Also, it is fun to see all of the community enjoying this space. I also like that there are more year-round activities now. enjoy that it is a urban park with all of the different activites but crossing over to minto 6 island park you have a very natural park so focus on a park with structure since we now have a way to get to nature by crossing minto island bridge 7 River access and a walk in the park. 8 Proximity to river and downtown, open-ness, connection to Minto and Wallace 9 Lots to do and access points to the railroad bridge and pedestrian bridge. It's a beautiful place to walk my dog and sit down and just relax for a while and enjoy the 10 view of the river. 11 A safe place to walk alone. Open space and views are the most important part of Riverfront Park. Our wonderful 12 Urban Forest precludes openness and views of the sky and horizon. 13 Open space with walking trails 14 Access to a variety of recreation opportunities The opportunity to be in the urban core and have such exceptional access to nature, 15 especially via the Minto bridge, and abundant opportunities to engage our children in the park amenities Paths, we enjoy walking/biking on safe paths. The expansiveness of the park, it's open, 16 there's lots of space & nature The wide paths with enough room for multiple people to fit, and grass on the sides of the 17 paths invade you're going fast on a bike or other things and you need to slow down or avoid people. The open space, green grass, the playground for kids, the carousel, and bridge to Minto 18 Brown. Parking is lacking though. 19 The wide open spaces! Lots of walking room and fields to play in. The connection to the river views, the calming presence of the water, and the opportunity 20 to walk or bike over a quiet bridge. 21 PATHS CONNNECTING RIVERFRONT TO WALLACE AND MINTO BROWN. 22 I LIKE ITS CONTROL LOCATION WITH THE BRIDGE OUTLETS. 6 Riverfront Park Master Plan Update Community Survey #1 Number Question 4 Response Text 23 VIEW AND RIVER. 24 HOW OUR CITIZENS USE IT ALL THE TIME IN MANY WAYS. 25 Biking to it through Minto/Brown 26 river acess and walking and bike riding paths: the connection to Minto Brown Park 27 Convenient access to Minto and Wallace, comfortable and safe place to walk/run at night I love the open space, connection to nature, the features that bring out families (carousel, 28 playground, Gilbert House).

  • Microsoft Inspire 2020: Day One Justin Gilbert
Microsoft Inspire 2020: Day One Justin Gilbert Over the next few days we’ll unpack all the best bits of Microsoft Inspire and end it all with a virtual happy hour on Friday afternoon. If you can’t be at the event hopefully you can join us and our experts as they cover lessons learned on Friday at 4 Central/5 Eastern. Whether you missed Inspire or just missed a particular session stop by and see what you missed. As someone who hasn’t missed a Microsoft Inspire event in years its odd to be sitting at home watching Gavriella Schuster kicking off Inspire in shorts and flip flops instead of seeing her on stage in person. However, Microsoft isn’t letting a virtual only experience slow them down. Born out of necessity this year’s virtual Inspire experience is highlighting the power of partnership and technology with a focus on being together, when we can’t be together. We’ve all been to scores of webinars over the past few months so it’s interesting to see how Microsoft is using this new medium to engage with the partner community in a new and invigorating way. With live Q & A throughout as well as on demand content this isn’t the same type of webinar we’ve all become accustomed to but instead it’s deeply interactive and immersive. A few examples of their commitment to keeping education vibe alive are: Ask the Expert Networking Activities Educational sessions that extend beyond the event But enough with the preamble, let’s get to the event! Kick Off Gavriella Schuster, CVP One Commercial Partner, summed up what our partner community has faced in the first part of this year and what we’ve accomplished together, “Seeing businesses impacted due to the pandemic is extremely sad but certainty comes from one single truth: human connection, technology, innovation and partners.

The initiatives run the gamut from the environmentally friendly, first-ever curbside compost pickup pilot program, to a skate board park, a micro hotel, new businesses and measures to protect our pets. In addition, I am very excited about our police department getting body worn cameras. Not only will this provide more transparency with community interaction, but it will also save taxpayer dollars by discouraging frivolous and potentially costly lawsuits. Pedestrian safety is another important area where new initiatives have Alderman Zielinski joined in the spirit of fun with some advanced, and I’ve included information about a few of these important participants at the Ohio Park Neighborhood Association’s annual Halloween costume contest. projects in this newsletter. Finally, I voted for the upcoming 2016 city budget because it provides for a zero property tax levy increase. It is critical that we are frugal and efficient with hard-earned taxpayer dollars. It should also be noted that all of these new, multi-million dollar developments are expanding our tax base, thereby helping to reduce the tax burden on everyone. I want to remind everyone that my most important job is to be responsive to your wants, needs, and concerns. Please do not hesitate to call me at 286-2873 or email me [email protected] if you feel I can be of service.
