adequate and equitable access to basic services, giving special emphasis to proper drainage and solid waste management assuring increase in education to all the target groups, enhancement in awareness levels and provision of primary health care, enco uragement in sport and cultural activities, ensuring gainful employment with

special focus on youth enabling environment for business and enterprising activities

so that the KMC becomes a Citizen - friendly Corporation in future.

Some More Achievements

KMC inaugurated three newly modeled and expanded Urban Primary Health Centres in association with NUHM :

On Nov. 5, 2016 a newly renovated and expanded Urban Primary Health Centre at Tara Sankar Sarani in Ward No. -5 Borough - I was inaugurated by Hon'ble MMIC (Health) Atin Ghosh. The programme was attended by MLA Mala Saha , Chairman , Borough -I Tarun Saha, officials of KMC and many others .

On Nov. 7, 2016 another two Urban Primary Health Centres have been inaugurated by Hon'ble MMIC (Health) Atin Ghosh at 82, Raja Dinendra Street, Ward No. -15, and Borough -II and in 19/A, Goa Bagan Street, Ward No -16, Borough -II.

The two inaugural ceremony were attended by Hon'ble M IC Consumer Affairs, Govt. of W.B. Sadhan Pandey, Chairman Borough –II, Sadhan Saha, Councillor Ward No. -15 Shukla Bhore, officials of KMC and many other dignitaries .

Observation of International Science Centre and Science Museum Day on 10th November, 2016:

The programme related to observation of International Science Centre and Science Museum Day was held on November 10, 2016 at Birla Industrial & Technological Museum.

Sri Avijit Mukherjee , Hon'ble MMIC(Education), KMC inaugurated the programme in presence of officials of Education Department and other dignitaries . 150 learners from 3 KMCP Schools namely (I) Haji Reasuddin KMCP School (II) Rameshwarpur KMCP School and (III) Bengali Bazar KMCP School along with the escort teachers were also present on that auspicious occasion. The Students have visited the Museum and different shows with refreshment.

A student delegation from Georgia State University came to visit Presidency University during November 11 -22, 2016 as part of ever expanding global collaboration

During their tour a team of students and teachers led by the registrar of Presidency University Debajyoti Konar and Mr.Charle s R Hankla, associate professor of Georgia State University met Hon'ble Mayor Sovan Chatterjee on Nov.16, 2016. Hon'ble Mayor and officials of KMC introduced them to the politics, civil governance and history of the historic Kolkata Municipal Corporation.

Different cultural programmes organized by KMC

BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF DESHBONDHU CHITTARANJAN DAS:

Nov.05, 2016 is the 147th Birth Anniversary of Deshbondhu Chittaranjan Das. Hon'ble Chairperson Mala Roy and KMC officials paid homage by offering floral tribute to the Smriti Shoudho of Deshbondhu Chittaranjan Das at C. R. Das uddayan adjacent to Keoratol a Mahashashman.

BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF DESHPARAN BIRENDRANATH SASMAL:

Oct.26, 2016 is the 135th Birth Anniversary of Deshparan Birendranath Sasmal . He known as 'Deshparan' because of his work fo r country and for his efforts in Swadeshi Movement.

Hon'ble Chairman Borough -X Tapan Dasgupta and KMC officials paid homage by offering floral tribute to the bust of Deshparan Birendranath Sasmal situated in front of Tollygunge Tram Depot.
