Some More Achievements Kolkata won best award regarding Solid Waste Management

Kolkata along with 10 other cities across the globe has been honored with the best cities of 2016 award in recognition of its inspiration and innovation programme with regard to Solid waste Manageme nt.

Kolkata Solid Waste Management Improvement Project 60 -80% (depending on site) segregation of waste at its source , with further waste segregation occurring at transfer stations .

Kolkata is the only Indian city to receive such prestigious award. It r eceived the award during the C 40 Mayors Summit held in Mexico City. Other cities that won the award are Addis Adaba, Copenhagen, Curitiba, Sydney, Malborne, Paris, Portand, Seoul ,Shenzhen and Yokohama .

Annual Sports Meet, 2016 for the learners of KMCP Schools & SSKs under The Kolkata Municipal Corporation :

On Dec.07th ,2016 Annual Sports Meet,2016 for the learners of KMCP Schools & SSKs under The Kolkata Municipal Corporation has successfully been completed at Deshapriya Park, Kolkata. The programme was inaugurated by Sri Sovan Chatterjee Hon'ble Mayor & MIC Housing , Environment ,Fire & Emergency Services Govt.of West Bengal.

Smt. Mala Roy Hon'ble Chairperson KMC was present as a Chief Guest and Sri Tarak Singh Hon'ble MMIC (Drainage), Sri Debasish Kumar Hon'ble MMIC (Parks & Square) were Special Guests. Sr i Baiswanar Chatterjee Chairman Borough -VIII & Sri Sandip Ranjan Bakshi Councillor Ward No-72 also attended the programme as Honorable Guests

Ceremony was presided over by Sri Avijit Mukherjee Hon'ble MMIC (Education).

There were 28 nos. of even ts like R ace , High jump, Long Jump, Gymnastic etc. & 213 nos. of competitors both boys and girls belonging to different age groups who were qualified in the Zonal -I and Zonal -II, Sports Meet, 2016 have participated in the Final Sports Meet 2016 to prove their ab ilities . About 5000 spectators have witnessed the colourful event of the children.
