Bedfont & Feltham
THE OFFICIAL MATCHDAY PROGRAMME OF BEDFONT & FELTHAM F.C. Season 2016-17 The In memory of Jim Tate Price £1 Yellows www.bedfontandfelthamfc.co.uk @BedfontFeltham /BedfontFeltham Affiliated to The Middlesex FA Members of The Cherry Red Records Combined Counties Football League Premier Division Saturday 28th January 2017 ~ Kick-Off: 3.00pm Bedfont & Feltham v Hartley Wintney The Cherry Red Records Combined Counties Football League, Premier Division Good afternoon everyone. This afternoon, we welcome the players, officials and supporters of Hartley Wintney Football Club; and our three match officials. We hope that all visitors enjoy their brief visit to The Volume 4, Issue 20 Orchard and have a safe journey home afterwards. Welcome to The Orchard for our twenty-first home fixture of the season, which is in the Premier Division of the Combined Counties Football League. The weather has been ‘seasonal’ of late, to say the least. Due to this, our home fixture v Staines Town in the Quarter-Final of the Southern Combination Cup and our away fixture at Epsom & Ewell were both postponed (although they have both been subsequently rearranged – see the fixture list inside). Our last league match saw us lose 2-3 at Horley Town. Craig Tomkins and Shakeel Morris scored our goals. Our visitors, Hartley Wintney are some twenty-three points above second-place Westfield and are on course for a second consecutive Premier Division title. We did cause them an upset back in August, by beating them 3-2 away. Hicham Abdellah scored a brace and Rashid Obbadi scored the third goal. Their Hampshire Senior Cup match v AFC Totton was abandoned on Tuesday night despite them being 1-0 up. -

Today marks our first meeting with Bracknell Town in over 15 years, since a match in this division at Larges Lane in March 2004, which was notable for the fact that Kezie Ibe scored all four goals in a 4-3 Swans victory – this following up a 3-0 win here just a fortnight before. In fact, all our competitive meetings with Bracknell have come in three short bursts, beginning with a Spartan League double for Staines (including an 8-0 win), plus a win in the Spartan League Cup and a defeat in the FA Amateur Cup all in 1970 and ’71. From 1987 – 89 we met six times in the then Vauxhall Opel League Division 1, losing the first two without scoring a goal, then winning the next four without conceding one. Following a lone friendly in 2000, we met four times (three wins and a draw) in the leage between 2002 and ’04. -

Today we G welcome our guests from GOSPORT BOROUGH FC to our home, and we hope they enjoy their short visit, and have a safe journey home to Hampshire’s south coast later tonight. My thanks go especially to Rachel Stone for providing details for this programme. Our visit to Gosport almost eight months ago produced a 2-1 defeat, but was a game that I think many of us felt we might have got some kind of result. A lot of water has passed under Staines Bridge since then, and ‘results’ have been few and far between, meaning that we’ve long since been relegated, but our visi- tors still have everything to play for as they try to preserve their Premier Division status. Just five years ago, Boro were looking forward to a trip to Wembley to contest the FA Trophy final, but a couple of years after they saw them beset by financial worries, which was to see them lose their place in the Conference South. -
