Resistance to the gospel is present as in the following slides but also some good news: Somalia: “You people are alienated from God and his religion. Come back to while you are still alive, and repent the apostasy; for you know that the way of righteousness is Islam. You are exchanging the religion with worldly pleasure that has no value. For you, hell isn’t far off. The minute you die, you are in hell. If you left Islam, reconvert again to Islam to be safe from hell.” Somalia:

“…. You, an apostate rebel, and a condemned atheist. You left your pertinent religion, while you know very well that Islam is good, and then chose to become Christian? I swear, if I get you, I will kill you, polluted and impure lot.” Somalia:

“I am greeting you, the Rajada Dumarka (WoH) ladies. I am happy to hear the Somali women who have no fear to preach the word of God – thank you, God! Sisters, even if I do not know your names, I encourage you not to fear to preach to Somali ladies, those who are in the dark. God bless you.”

“I am greeting you. I like your radio program. So I would like to get an idea from you how one can become a Christian. Please answer my question.” Somalia:

▪ As shown in previous slide there is a significant % ethno religious beliefs which influence the societies . ▪ High % of Islam in Mozambique, Malawi due also to the vigilant advance and onslaught of Islam ▪ Christians face significant obstacles preventing them from incorporating Christian beliefs and practices into their daily lives ▪ The inability to discern between the truth of Christianity and their ancestral Spirit worship has left many with a warped perception of what it means to follow Christian principles, particularly in the context of the family. MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES

▪ Christians /converts from Lomwe , Makhuwa Yao Distributed across Mozambique Malawi and Tanzania ▪ Show general openness to religious teaching resulting in most villages having some form of a house of worship without the necessary skills and knowledge of the truths of the Bible. ▪ They need skill and guidance to engage with the Bible and Gods truth to bring a total transformation emotionally spiritually, physically and socially. OPENESS TO THE GOSPEL

▪ YES- Despite advancement of Islam ▪ There is also a significant conversion from Muslim background to Christian of the Yao, Makhuwa, and Lomwe ▪ Combined with a lack of proper theological training increase ▪ Opportunities exist and urgent need for programs translated into these indigenous languages Yao, Makhuwa and Lomwe ▪ Programs for sound Biblical Teaching and discipleship, ▪ BIG NEED and request for Yao, Makhuwa and Lomwe programs for Men, women, children Leadership and Family MEDIA TRENDS

▪ Radio listenership 4 -6 hours day, on average. ▪ In rural Mozambique and Malawi this is higher average 7- 8 hrs ▪ More than half of listeners (52%) are considered ‘heavy listeners’ – tuning in for more than 20 hours a week. ▪ 64% of listeners tend to be loyal to favorite station of choice ▪ Portable radios are still the most widely-used device to radio stations (76%) ▪ followed by cellphones (37%), car radios (26%), desktop computers (8%) and laptops (2%) ▪ All Other audio devices combined less than 20% OTHER MEDIA TRENDS MOBILE USAGE IN SOUTHERN AFRICA
