Obe mená majú rovnaké miesto na panteóne elektronickej hudby, takže je to úplne logické pretnutie. Eno tento žáner definoval a Warp zmapovali to najdôležitejšie z elektronickej scény za posledné 2 dekády. Nový album je výsledkom nieko ľkoro čnej spolupráce Ena s 2 mladými skladate ľmi, Jonom Hopkinsom a Leom Abrahamsom. Je to atmosferická nahrávka, ktorá prechádza od Enových charakteristických ambientno-éterických zvukov až k dynamickejším polohám s dominujúcou gitarou. WARPCD207 Peter Broderick – Music For Falling FromTrees (Erased Tapes) 30-minútová kompozícia, ktorú Peter Broderick zložil pre projekt sú časného tanca londýnskej choreografky Adrienne Hart. Tanec rozpráva príbeh muža v psychiatrickej lie čebni, ktorý bojuje o zachovanie vlastnej identity. Ke ďže Adrienne h ľadala soundrack založený na klavíri a slákoch, Peter odložil gitaru a spev a sústredil sa výhradne na tieto nástroje: "Rozhodol som sa vzia ť to doslovne a vytvoril som pravidlo nepouži ť žiadny iný nástroj. Ak bol v scenári napriklad zvuk tikania hodín, vytvoril som ho búchaním na telo huslí svojimi nechtami." La ciudad de Oporto acogerá por quinto año consecutivo la edición lusa, que se celebrará entre el 9 y el 11 de junio en el Parque da Cidade. El cartel de NOS Primavera Sound contará con una amplia selección de artistas internacionales, así como una significativa representación de artistas de la escena musical portuguesa. La línea artística sigue las mismas directrices que el de Barcelona, que se distingue por la variedad de estilos y por su apuesta por nuevos valores, destacando tanto la escena musical local como a artistas con largas y respetadas carreras. Tras consolidar su éxito en la quinta edición, NOS Primavera Sound se ha convertido en parada obligatoria dentro del circuito de festivales del la Europa. La excelente localización geográ ca de Oporto, lo bien comunicada que está con el resto de Europa y la distinción del festival dentro del panorama musical portugués contribuyen al crecimiento de la ciudad, a su proyección como capital cultural y a su dinamización internacional como destino turístico. 3 EDICIÓN 2016 NOS Primavera Sound acaba de dar a conocer el cartel completo de su quinta edición. CONSTELLATION La critica musicale ha spesso identificato alcuni generi musicali con le città nelle quali si erano sviluppati, arrivando a far coincidere musica e toponomastica come nel caso del Canterbury sound o del Madchester. In realtà di solito si è trattato di un tentativo di semplificare la realtà per rendere intelligibili fenomeni la cui complessità sarebbe stata di difficile comprensione alla maggioranza dei lettori delle varie riviste del settore; basti pensare alla San Francisco psichedelica, al country di Nashville, all'elettronica berlinese, alla Seattle grunge o a Londra per il punk, ecc. Detto ciò, in pochi avrebbero immaginato che nel novero di queste “capitali” musicali sarebbe apparso il nome di Montreal, principale città del Quebec canadese. Eppure se dovessimo cercare una città con la quale identificare il post- rock degli anni Duemila non potremmo che guardare verso questa metropoli di più di un milione e mezzo di abitanti, se non altro per l’etichetta discografica indipendente Constellation records che vi ha sede. Nata nel 1997, la Constellation si è fin da subito caratterizzata per le “ostiche” scelte musicali e di marketing, dimostrando negli anni un'ammirevole coerenza che le ha permesso di intercettare le espressioni più avanzate e innovative del movimento post-rock canadese – ovvero il meglio del post-rock tout-court –, distinguendosi commercialmente dalle tante etichette indipendenti grazie a confezioni in digipack dominate da colori tenui e da un’originalità grafica e iconografica che diventa determinante nel trasmettere anche visivamente i contenuti musicali. Ma forse per comprendere il percorso qui proposto occorre partire dall’inizio, ovvero dalla definizione di Post-rock. -

# 2019/02 dschungel https://jungle.world/artikel/2019/02/barocke-dunkelheit »Why Hasn’t Everything Already Disappeared?« - Das neue Album von Deerhunter Barocke Dunkelheit Von Maik Bierwirth Das achte Album der Indierock-Band Deerhunter klingt nach Baroque Pop aus den sechziger Jahren. Bradford Cox und seiner Band Deerhunter ist mit »Why Hasn’t Everything Already Disappeared?« ein kurzweiliges Album gelungen. Auf dem achten Longplayer der Band aus Athens, Georgia, verfeinern Anleihen aus dem Baroque Pop den versponnenen, stets von den Sixties inspirierten Indierock der Gruppe. Bereits bei der Vorabsingle »Death in Midsummer« dominiert nicht die Gitarre, sondern ein markantes Cembalo (gespielt von der walisischen Musikerin und Produzentin Cate Le Bon), das so klingt, als wolle sich die Band in Richtung von The Left Banke verbeugen, deren Popsongs mit Cembalo und Streicherarrangements vor gut 50 Jahren erstmals das Attribut »barock« zugesprochen wurde. Daraus entstand ein ganzes Genre aus mal opulentem, mal subtilerem Orchestereinsatz in der Musik zwischen Mitte der sechziger und Mitte der siebziger Jahre, wie man ihn bei zahlreichen Stücken der Beatles und Beach Boys aus dieser Zeit hören kann, aber ebenso bei psychedelischen Rockbands wie den Zombies und den Kinks. Scott Walker prägte auf seinen Soloalben ab 1967 einen besonderen Kammerpop und reizte die orchestralen Möglichkeiten in der Popmusik wohl am weitesten (und brillantesten) aus. Im Übrigen ist diese Spielart nicht zu verwechseln mit all den grauenvollen Anbiederungsversuchen aus der kommerziellen klassischen Musik in Richtung Populärkultur, Stichwort »Classic meets Rock«. Der Begriff Baroque Pop als retrospektive Stilbezeichnung setzte sich indessen erst Jahrzehnte später durch. Der morbide Titel des Albums liefert das Leitmotiv für alle Texte. -
