Tento přístup využívá přirozených procesů spontánní sukcese, která může být někdy mírně usměrňována, blokována nebo i vracena do ranějších stádií. Jde již o druhé vydání, které bylo autorským kolektivem aktualizováno a doplněno o řadu nových poznatků. Měl by se stát stručným kompendiem znalostí, které byly v ČR dosud shromážděny v rámci poměrně mladého vědního oboru ekologie obnovy (restoration ecology) a jeho aplikací v ekologické obnově (ecological restoration) míst narušených těžbou. Texty sborníku vycházejí do značné míry z příspěvků, které v lednu 2009 zazněly na odborném semináři v Českých Budějovicích. Na uspořádání tohoto semináře spolupracovala nevládní organizace Calla s pracovní skupinou ekologie obnovy při katedře botaniky Přírodovědecké fakulty Jihočeské univerzity. Sešla se na něm tři- cítka přírodovědců, kteří se profesně zabývají těžbou narušenými místy, další kole- gové poskytli pro seminář svoje data. Abychom ještě více pokryli celou šíři oboru, včetně všech nových poznatků, rozšířili jsme i autorské kolektivy některých kapitol. Příspěvky ve sborníku určitě neaspirují na podrobné vědecké pojednání o eko- logické sukcesi, ani nemají být „telefonními seznamy“ druhů, které jsou vázány na aktivní či opuštěné těžební prostory. Měly by především inspirovat k vyššímu zastoupení přírodě blízkých způsobů obnovy v rekultivační praxi. Biological Surveys at Hunsbury Hill Country Park 2018
FRIENDS OF WEST HUNSBURY PARKS BIOLOGICAL SURVEYS AT HUNSBURY HILL COUNTRY PARK 2018 Ryan Clark Northamptonshire Biodiversity Records Centre April 2019 Northamptonshire Biodiversity Records Centre Introduction Biological records tell us which species are present on sites and are essential in informing the conservation and management of wildlife. In 2018, the Northamptonshire Biodiversity Records Centre ran a number of events to encourage biological recording at Hunsbury Hill Fort as part of the Friends of West Hunsbury Park’s project, which is supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. Hunsbury Hill Country Park is designated as a Local Wildlife Site (LWS). There are approximately 700 Local Wildlife Sites in Northamptonshire. Local Wildlife Sites create a network of areas, which are important as refuges for wildlife or wildlife corridors. Hunsbury Hill Country Park was designated as a LWS in 1992 for its woodland flora and the variety of habitats that the site possesses. The site also has a Local Geological Site (LGS) which highlights the importance of this site for its geology as well as biodiversity. This will be surveyed by the local geological group in due course. Hunsbury Hill Country Park Local Wildlife Site Boundary 1 Northamptonshire Biodiversity Records Centre (NBRC) supports the recording, curation and sharing of quality verified environmental information for sound decision-making. We hold nearly a million biological records covering a variety of different species groups. Before the start of this project, we looked to see which species had been recorded at the site. We were surprised to find that the only records we have for the site have come from Local Wildlife Site Surveys, which assess the quality of the site and focus on vascular plants, with some casual observations of other species noted too. -

INTRODUCTION Planthoppers and leafhoppers (Hemiptera: Fulgoromorpha et Cicadomorpha) are phytophagous insects which are highly related to their host plants, and most of them are trophically specialized as mono- or oligophagous (niCkel 2003), so most of them are attached to the specific plant associations, where they form multispecies communities. -

The bite was registered in the locality Santa Rosa La Pampa, Argentina (36°37'29.02"S, 64°17'19.13"W). The insect was not provoked by the victim, and thus, the bite was probably not in self-defense. We therefore concluded that the insect bite the victim because it was searching for sources of hydration. Key words: adventitious bite, nabids, predaceous habit, record, symptomatology. Resumen Se describe el primer caso de una picadura adventicia en un ser humano por Nabis argentinus Meyer-Dür 1870, en la localidad de Santa Rosa La Pampa, Argentina (36°37'29.02"S, 64°17'19.13"W). El insecto no fue provocado por la víctima, por lo que probablemente la picadura no fue en defensa propia. Por lo tanto, concluimos que el insecto picó a la víctima en búsqueda de recursos de hidratación. -

In the case of insects, most published DNA barcoding studies focus on species of the Ephemeroptera, Trichoptera, Hymenoptera and especially Lepidoptera. In this study we test the efficiency of DNA barcoding for true bugs (Hemiptera: Heteroptera), an ecological and economical highly important as well as morphologically diverse insect taxon. As part of our study we analyzed DNA barcodes for 1742 specimens of 457 species, comprising 39 families of the Heteroptera. We found low nucleotide distances with a minimum pairwise K2P distance ,2.2% within 21 species pairs (39 species). For ten of these species pairs (18 species), minimum pairwise distances were zero. In contrast to this, deep intraspecific sequence divergences with maximum pairwise distances .2.2% were detected for 16 traditionally recognized and valid species. With a successful identification rate of 91.5% (418 species) our study emphasizes the use of DNA barcodes for the identification of true bugs and represents an important step in building-up a comprehensive barcode library for true bugs in Germany and Central Europe as well. -

Hazards for Nature? Avalanches As a Promotor of Biodiversity. a Case Study on the Invertebrate Fauna in the Gesäuse National Park (Styria, Austria)

A case study on the invertebrate fauna in the Gesäuse National Park (Styria, Austria) Christian Komposch, Thomas Frieß & Daniel Kreiner Abstract Avalanches are feared by humans and considered “catastrophic” due to their unpredictable and destructive force. But this anthropocentric perspective fails to capture the potential ecological value of these natural disturbances. The Gesäuse National Park is a model-region for investigations of such highly dynamic events because of its distinct relief and extreme weather conditions. This project aims to record and analyse the animal assemblages in these highly dynamic habitats as well as document succession and population structure. 1) Dynamic processes lead to one of the very few permanent and natural vegetationless habitat types in Central Europe outside the alpine zone – i. e. screes and other rocky habitats at various successional stages. In addition to the tight mosaic distribution of a variety of habitats over larger areas, avalanche tracks also offer valuable structures like dead wood and rocks. Remarkable is the sympatric occurrence of the three harvestmen species Trogulus tricarinatus, T. nepaeformis und T. tingiformis, a species diversity peak of spiders, true-bugs and ants; and the newly recorded occurrence of Formica truncorum. 2) The presence of highly adapted species and coenoses reflect the extreme environmental conditions, specific vegetation cover and microclimate of these habitats. Several of the recorded taxa are rare, endangered and endemic. The very rare dwarf spider Trichoncus hackmani is a new record for Styria and the stenotopic and critically endangered wolf-spider Acantholycosa lignaria is dependent on lying dead wood.
