Myartseva & Enrique Ruíz- Cancino Accepted: 23-07-2013 ABSTRACT Aphelinidae is one of the most important families in biological control of insect pests at a worldwide level. The following catalogue of the Iranian fauna of Aphelinidae includes a list of all genera and species recorded for the country, their distribution in and outside Iran, and known hosts in Iran. In total 138 species from 11 genera (Ablerus, Aphelinus, Aphytis, Coccobius, Coccophagoides, Coccophagus, Encarsia, Eretmocerus, Marietta, Myiocnema, Pteroptrix) are listed as the fauna of Iran. Aphelinus semiflavus Howard, 1908 and Coccophagoides similis (Masi, 1908) are new records for Iran. Key words: Hymenoptera, Chalcidoidea, Aphelinidae, Catalogue. The obtained results provided the occurrence of ten scale insects and mealybugs species found on mango trees. These species were Kilifia acuminata (Signoret), Ceroplastes floridensis Comstock, Aulacaspis tubercularis Newstead, Pulvinaria psidii (Maskell), Aonidiella aurantii (Maskell), Lepidosaphes pallidula (Maskell), Planococcus citri Risso, Icerya seychellarum (Westwood), Maconellicoccus hirsutus (Green) and Hemiberlesia lataniae (Signoret). Also, We recorded many species of parasitoids were associated with scale insects and mealybugs during two years of study. The parasitoids species were Metaphycus flavus (Haward), Habrolepis aspidioti( Compere & Annecke), Encarsia citrine Craw, Aphytis chrysomphali Mercet and Aphytis lepidosaphes Compere and we recorded several of predators were associated with scale insects and mealybugs, Rodalia cardinalis (Mulsant), Scymnus syriacus (Marseul), Exochomus flavipes (Thunberg) and Hemisarcoptes coccophagus (Meyer). Phytomyza linguae Lundqvist, 1947 is recorded as new to Finland. Keywords Checklist, Finland, Diptera, biodiversity, faunistics Introduction The Agromyzidae are called the leaf-miner or leaf-mining flies and not without reason, although a substantial fraction of the species feed as larvae on other parts of living plants. While Agromyzidae is traditionally placed in the superfamily Opomyzoidea, its exact relationships with other acalyptrate Diptera are poorly understood (see for example Winkler et al. 2010). Two subfamilies are recognised within the leaf-mining flies: Agromyzinae and Phytomyzinae. Both are now recognised as natural groups (Dempewolf 2005, Scheffer et al. 2007). Unfortunately the genera are not as well defined: at least Ophiomyia, Phy- toliriomyza and Aulagromyza are paraphyletic in DNA sequence analyses (see Scheffer et al. -

The digitisation of such resources allows us to verify their value and share these records with other scientists – and they are usually rich in taxa and unique in the world. Moreover, such information significantly enriches local and global knowledge about biodiversi- ty. The digitisation of the resources of the Zoology Research Group, University of Silesia in Katowice (Poland) allowed presenting a substantial collection of scale insects (Hemiptera: Coccomorpha). The collection counts 9369 slide-mounted specimens, about 200 alcohol-preserved samples, close to 2500 dry specimens stored in glass vials and 1319 amber inclu- sions representing 343 taxa (289 identified to species level), 158 genera and 36 families (29 extant and seven extinct). -

With some types of tobacco it is desirable that all of the plants in a field ripen at about the same time. In such cases cutworm damage at trans- plajiting time may be unusually important. -

Agri. and Natural Resources, Aswan University, Egypt Abstract: The experiment was conducted at El-Mattana Research Station (latitude of 25.25° N and longitude of 32.31° E), Agricultural Research Center, Luxor Governorate, Egypt on a plant cane in 2017/18 and its 1st ratoon in 2018/19 to evaluate the susceptibility of five promising sugarcane varieties viz. G.2004-27, G.84-47, G.2003-47, G.99-103 and C.57-14 compared to the commercial G.T.54-9 variety for infestation with two sugarcane borers (Sesamia cretica and Chilo agamemnon), yield and quality under three inter-row spacing (80, 100 and 120 cm).The studied combinations were randomly distributed in a randomized complete block design in a split-plot distribution, with three replications, where, inter-row spacing were allocated in the main plots, while sugarcane varieties were randomly distributed in the sub-plots. The results indicated that increasing inter-row spacing from 80 to 120 cm led to a significant reduction in dead hearts%, bored stalks%, bored joints, girdled stalks%, mean no. -

C., on July 18, 1920. The wide field of natural hisiory 1~0rlito which John Macoun devoted his life is well known, II~Lonly throughout Canada but in other countries as well. He specialized particularly in botal~yand was the founder of the Canadian Ka- tional herbarium. Other sciences, however, especially zoology, were also greatly enriched by him; he will always he remembered as a great pioneer in Canadian natural history.
