Impact wrenches are one of the best tools on the market to quickly unfasten/ fasten nuts and bolts and are used in a variety of applications

More powerful than traditional hand tools such as wrenches or ratchets, impact wrenches are designed to LOOSEN NUTS with a hammer system. Facom uses 3 types of IMPACT MECHANISM based on the application and usage of the wrench as follows:

TWIN HAMMER • Powerful and very reliable impact system.

JUMBO • Durable impact mechanism with less maintenance needed but lower torque than the twin hammer.

DOUBLE HAMMER • Two hammers encased in a strong hammer cage for high speed. • Perfect for lower torque applications.

Definitions: Torque values are based on fastener grade 8,8 (ISO 898-1) or 5 (SAE) with an average friction coefficient at u=0.15. To choose your impact wrench, please take into consideration the range of applications you have. Breakaway torque is defined as a 30 second performance value. A bolt tightened at 100 Nm, due to rust, dirt and vibration may need after some time up to double the torque to loosen it. This is the promise of the breakaway torque. Within the range of given bolts, even if these bolts are rusted or «welded» by time, the tool will get them off. In green, you will have your recommended working torque range, measured at 1 second for the lowest value and at 3 seconds for the highest value. In red, you will have your maximum reverse torque applied in 5 seconds. The choice of the impact wrench must be done based on the green and red range. These values are an indication only and are not repeatable due to many factors influencing the torque applied such as air pressure, operator, batterie charge, wear of sockets, fittings and hoses, type of joint hard or soft, etc. 8 facom impact wrenches
