A1) Normal early fall regatta wear is the short answer. Let’s be more specific. Onshore – pretty normal regatta stuff for weather likely in the 60’s during the day. Could be warmer could be colder. Saturday evening is the closest thing to formal. Blue Blazers will be common, most will sport fun sailing ties. Dresses for the ladies will be common. The other evenings are casual regatta wear. Offshore – sailing gear shorts, a base layer, fleece layer in case colder and light foul weather gear, shoes and gloves. Pretty standard stuff. Q2) Airport Pickup – How will I get from the airport to Pewaukee? Should I rent a car? A2) No. We will coordinate that and communicate pickup logistics with you on the day of travel. Q3) Housing – Where will I be staying and when will I find out? A3) You will learn who your hosts are no later than when you are picked up at the airport. Q4) Boat and Crew - What boat and crew will I be paired with? A4) At 3:00 pm Thursday we will be doing the Skipper to Boat/Crew Pairing thru a Lottery-Style pairing process. See the next page for a view of the top E Scow teams (on the right) that have sailed hard to qualify for this event and yield their helm, boat and crew to you. The idea was to start an E Blue Chip hosted by the Pewaukee Yacht Club. Jim Klauser Terry Lentz Tom Sawyer So plans began to host the 1 st Annual E Blue Chip in September 1966. Their inspiration was the C Blue Chip, which is annually held on Pistakee Lake. It seemed only fitting that the friends called upon John Looze (founder of the C Blue Chip) to be the head RC for the regatta.
