The Royal Danish Yacht Club (KDY) will offer Finn Master sailors from all over the world to sail in the home waters of Paul Elvström, Henning Wind, Lasse Hjortnäs, Stig Westergaard and Jonas Høgh-Christensen.
When it comes to Finn sailing, Denmark has a great history and tradition. 4 Olympic medals won, 10 Finn Gold Cup victories, a strong national team squad and a very active fleet of master sailors. Royal Danish Yacht Club
• The Royal Danish Yacht Club is the oldest and largest sailing club in Denmark (150th anniversary in 2016)
• The club is a very active club and experienced when it comes to organizing international regattas
• The club has three stations north of Copenhagen: Tuborg Harbor, Skovshoved Harbor and Rungsted Harbor Large international regattas - hosted by Royal Danish Yacht Club the last 10 years:

The proposed venue is Skovshoved Harbor, which has just been expanded and modernized with perfect facilities to host large events. The harbor can provide great services for Finn Master sailors such as:

The sailing area outside Skovshoved Harbor is Øresund – the waters between Denmark and Sweden.
During summer wind speed average is 8,5 knots. Direction is mainly west but for inshore races on really warm days sea breeze can build around noon. Normally there are currents of a speed of maximum of 1,0 knots. Mostly flat waters outside Skovshoved, depending on the wind direction.
Temperatures in start June are around 15-20 C and on average we can expect rain of max. 60 mm.
It will take about 10-15 min. to sail to the race course outside Skovshoved Harbor. Accommodation
Hotels: The harbor is surrounded by a large amount of accommodation possibilities; for example the small, hip hotel ”Skovshoved Hotel” and other good hotels in a 10 min. driving distance.
Camping: A large area on Skovshoved Harbor with camping possibilities, and 1 km away a luxurious camping spot on a fortress adjacent to the sea with good beaches.
Airbnb: Houses and apartments close to the harbor are possible to rent out on sites like Airbnb. Social events
KDY has a lot of positive experience with hosting international events on Skovshoved Harbor – lately in 2016 the ORC Worlds with 1200 sailors and the a Classic Meter Cup with 50 classic yachts and 500 sailors.
For catering arrangements, social events and parties Skovshoved Harbor can offer: • Large grass fields for setup of tents as well as • A boat-yard hall that can host 600 sailors • Club houses & indoor facilities Grass fields for setup of tents

The area around Skovshoved is a beautiful piece of Denmark and provides popular bath houses, beaches and café’s. Skovshoved is situated only 10 km from the city center in Copenhagen – a city full of history, great restaurants, and Scandinavian design and architecture. 15 Michelin restaurants! Copenhagen can offer great places to arrange social happenings during the Finn Master Worlds. Also, Skovshoved is very close to the oldest amusement park in the world Bakken, where we have hosted many events for sailors during our regattas. Example of “hits” in Copenhagen:

Copenhagen can provide great shopping, lunching and sightseeing. Also the area north of Skovshoved has beautiful castles, the art museum Louisiana and the Viking museum in Roskilde.
