Notice of Race

1. Rules 1.1. The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing. 1.2. The applying prescriptions of the Nordic Sailing Association and the Danish Sailing Association will be incorporated into the Sailing Instructions. 1.3. The rules of the following documents will apply: ● Statutes for Danish Championships in Sailing - https://dansksejlunion.dk/media/cswjldlc/dm-statutter-eng.pdf ● The J/80 Class Rules - https://www.sailing.org/28205.php 1.4. Racing Rules will be changed as follows: ● Rule 33 will be changed so that signal flag C together with repetitive sounds are sufficient signals when changing the position of the next nark. ● Rules 35, A4 and A5.1 will be changed to state, that boats failing to finish within 15 minutes after the first boat sails the course and finishes will be scored Did Not Finish. ● Rules 44.1 will be changed so that the Two-Turns Penalty is replaced by the One- Turn Penalty. ● Rule 60.1(a) will be changed to state that a competitor cannot protest another boat or competitor for breaches of specific parts of the sailing instructions. ● Rule A4 and A5.1 will be changed by stating, that a boat starting later than 4 minutes after her starting signal will be scored Did Not Start. ● The Sailing Instructions may also change other racing rules. 1.5. National authority prescription that apply: Danish legislation requires every boat to be equipped with personal buoyancy for the number of persons on board at any time. 1.6. If there is a conflict between languages, the English text will take precedence.

2. Sailing instructions 2.1. The Sailing Instructions will be available on Manage2Sail June 27th at the latest. 3. Radio communication 3.1. The official notice board will be in Manage2Sail. 3.2. Except in an emergency, a boat shall neither make radio transmissions while racing nor receive radio communications not available to all boats. This restriction also applies to mobile telephones. 3.3. The race officer intends to broadcast race management information regarding the courses, the start, recalls, rescue instructions (RRS 37) etc. to the fleet by VHF Radio. 4. Eligibility and entry 4.1. The regatta is open only to members of the J/80 Class as defined by the J/80 Class Rule (C3.3) and being registered with their National Class Association. 4.2. All helmsmen will have to confirm membership of a national J/80 Class Association, in accordance with international class rules.

If the owner of a boat is not part of the crew, a loan declaration must be submitted upon registration. Loan declaration can be found here:

4.3. All participants must be member of a sailing club affiliated with a national authority under World Sailing. Documentation for this must be sent by email to [email protected] 25/06/2021 at the latest. 4.4. Eligible boats may pre-register by completing the entry form at https://manage2sail.com/ - by June 14th at the latest. The entry fee includes launching, dock space, hauling and sailors’ dinner Thursday (up to 4 persons) and after sailing beer Thursday and Friday. 4.5. Payment must be done through Manage2sail by credit card or bank wire. 4.6. Late entries after June 14th will be accepted with an additional fee to the pre-register fee.

4.7. Documents to be presented no later than registration  Documentation of valid liability insurance.  Documentation of membership of a sailing club for the entire crew.  Copy of measurement certificate.  Loan declaration if applicable.  Appendix 1: Owner Regatta Declaration.  Appendix 2: Crew Weight Declaration. 5. Fee 5.1. Entry fee is 215 Euro. Late entry is 255 Euro

Payment must be done through Manage2sail by credit card or bank wire. 6. Advertising, Rights to use names and likenesses 6.1. Skippers and competitors automatically grant to the OA, without payment, the right in perpetuity to make, use and show any motion pictures, still pictures and live, taped or filmed television of or relating to the event, where their image or name may appear. 6.2. Boats may be required to display advertising chosen and supplied by the organizing authority. 7. Schedule 7.1. Wednesday, June 30th 17.00 – 21.00 Race Office open: Registration Launching of boats

8. Measurement 8.1. Each boat shall have a valid measurement certificate and this must be sent via email to [email protected] by 25/06/2021 at the latest. 8.2. Boats must come with certified sails in accordance with Class Rules. 8.3. Organizers reserve the right to conduct measurement checks before, during or after any race. 9. Venue 9.1. The regatta harbour will be Rungsted Havn. The Race office is in the club house of The Royal Danish Yacht Club at Rungsted harbour, 2960 Rungsted Kyst 9.2. The course will be the waters east of Rungsted harbour. 10. The course(s) 10.1. The course to be sailed will be a ”Windward/Leeward course” with a spreader mark at the top and finish in the bottom. 10.2. A diagram showing the course including information of the approximate sailing time will be part of the Sailing Instructions. 11. Penalties 11.1. Rule 44.1 is changed so that the Two-Turns Penalty is replaced with the One-Turn Penalty. 12. Scoring 12.1. Four races are required to be completed to constitute a Danish championship. If fewer races are completed, at regatta winner can be elected. 12.2. a) When fewer than 5 races have been completed, a boat´s series score will be the total of her race scores. b) When 5 or more races have been completed, a boat´s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score. 13. Support Boats 13.1. Coach and support boats must register in the race office within the entry time established. Coach and support boats shall display identification flags, issued by the Organizing Authority. Coach and support boats must be at least 50 meters from any racing boats. All support boats shall comply with RRS 37. 14. Berthing 14.1. Boats shall be kept in their assigned places while they are in the harbour. 15. Haul-out restrictions

15.1. Keelboats shall not be hauled out during the regatta except with and according to the terms of prior written permission of the race committee. 16. Diving equipment and plastic pools 16.1. Underwater breathing apparatus and plastic pools or their equivalent shall not be used around keelboats between the preparatory signal of the first race and the end of the regatta. 17. Data Protection See Appendix 3 18. Disclaimer of liability 18.1. Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See RRS 3, Decision to Race. 18.2. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta. 19. Safety 19.1. RRS 40.1 applies from the time the boat leaves land and until it returns to land: All participants must be wearing personal buoyancy aids, except when there is a short change or change of clothing or personal equipment. Wetsuits and dry suits are not considered personal buoyancy aids. 20. Insurance 20.1. Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of 2.000.000 EURO per incident or the equivalent 21. Prizes 21.1. The title “Danish Champion” and the medals are awarded to the best scoring participant and crew where all crew members are members of a Danish sailing club, independent to their nationality - according to Statutes for Danish Championships in Sailing. 21.2. Prizes will as a minimum be awarded for the first three boats. 21.3. Prize giving will take place soonest possible after racing Friday.

22. Corona 22.1. The event will at all time comply with the Danish government guidelines and laws regarding Covid-19 virus. This may change NOR or SI. 22.2. Information on how these guidelines will affect the event will be provided on the event website and through Manage2Sail. 23. Trash free regatta 23.1. A competitor shall not intentionally put trash in the water. RRS 47 applies at all times while afloat. 24. Privacy Policy

Any personal information and data given to the organizers will be used only as follows:

• All data regarding participating athletes, coaches and their boats will be processed and archived for the purpose of this sporting event.

• Personal information contains the participant’s real name, date of birth, home club, boat type. boat number address data and contact information. In particular, results, calculations and visual analyses, position monitoring and race analyses will be published with reference to the competitor’s names.

• In order to achieve this, the data will be transferred to our service providers such as manage2sail and to such governing bodies like World Sailing and Class Association. Our service providers and governing bodies have been or will be committed by us, to exclusively use your data for the event and its preparation and post-processing, including ranking lists and global multi-event scorecards.

• The commercial use of your data is prohibited except as described in NoR.
