Hello to everyone from Bodmin Town and to our local supporters and friends. At the time of writing, there’s a threat of even more rain, probably calling for a Treat yourself or your nearest and dearest…. pitch inspection – so, if you’re reading this, at the fifth attempt to play the tie, and help the club at the same time! either the rain didn’t happen, or it did but made no difference! Bodmin Town come with a superb pedigree and an awesome reputation - top New-style club scarf, green/white, with club name & badge: of the League, scoring goals and taking all the Cup competitions seriously. £5 They are the highest-ranked club we could possibly play in any one season, so today’s the chance to see how we match up. Club scarf, green/white, plain: Who would have thought that this season would bring four games against £3 Premier Division teams? We’ve seen off Newquay and Tavistock in the League Cup, today it’s Bodmin in the Senior Cup, and a fourth game when the draw is Scarf for your dog (as per photos): made for the League Cup Quarter Finals. And if we win today there’ll be a fifth £3 at revenge-seeking Newquay next Tuesday. In the less newsworthy but more important league programme, we beat Club mugs: Porthleven in our last match. It was the only game played in our Division, credit £4 again to groundsman Mike Prisk. We had a large crowd (117), so many thanks also to everyone for a great turn-out. Window stickers with club badge, for your house or car: We now sit deceptively a long way out at the top. I say ‘deceptively’, because £1 several clubs have games in hand. But they’ve got to win those games to start catching up – and some of them are against us and some against each other! Items to order: People have described today’s match as the biggest in the club’s history. Knowing Quinny, he’ll just accept the challenge, tell the players to make the Coats, black, quilt-lined, with club badge & your initials: most of the opportunity, and play the usual way…..and your support will make £65 a lot of difference, whichever way the game goes. All other Third Round matches have been completed This is where more "old" jibes come into play: injuries take longer to clear up the older you are...I'm finding this out the hard way! However, physio and strengthening QUARTER FINALS work has been going well and so I hope to be back playing today, if selected, and looking forward to testing my legs against some of the best midfielders around.

    The club was established in 1890 as Newquay Football Club, but did not play any competitive games until entering the Cornwall Senior Cup in 1896–97. They were renamed Newquay One and All in 1903 and went on to win the Cornwall Charity Shield in 1906–07. After folding in 1912, the club was re-established as Newquay Rovers in 1920. The new club joined the Plymouth & District League, but left in 1927 due to the cost of travelling. In 1931 they were founder members of the Cornwall Senior League, going on to win the league and the Cornwall Senior Cup in 1934–35. However, the club disbanded in 1937. The current incarnation of the club was formed in 1946, rejoining the Cornwall Senior League. In 1951 they were founder members of the South Western League. They won the Cornwall Senior Cup in 1952– 53, 1954–55 and 1956–57, before finishing as runners-up in the South Western League in 1957–58. They were league champions the following season and retained the title in 1959–60. The club won the league again in 1977–78, 1979–80, 1981–82 and 1983–84, before finishing as runners-up in 1984–85. They were South Western League champions for a seventh time in 1987–88 and finished as runners-up in 1991– 92,as well as winning the Cornwall Senior Cup. They finished second in the league again in 1993–94. In 2007 the South Western League merged with the Devon County League to form the South West Penin- sula League, with Newquay placed in Division One West.
