The data should emphasizebut may not be limited to the I information about Physical Environmentwhich could include, meteorologyand climate,geology and soil, seismology,air and water quality, noise,topography and drainagepatterns, hydrology and"/or hydraulic regime, surface and groundwater and I land use.Ecological Resources should discuss about forests/flora/vegetation profile, crop and horticulture activities, and fauna/wild life and local livestock species I (should specify mammals, birds, fish, reptiles and insects), protected and/or endangeredwildlife species. Although, NEQS include32 watercriteria pollutants for I effluents and 16 NEQS for gaseousemissions, NHA prefer and recommend basicwater quality analysiswhich may includebut not limited to pH, turbidity, t alkalinity,TDS, TSS,5-day BOD at 20oC,COD, OD, total hardness,chloride, sodium nitrates,lead, mercury,arsenic, cadmium, total toxic metals,phenolic compoundsas phenols,pesticides / herbicides/ fungicides(in farmland areas\ I and E-coli. Consultantsmust identify standardand recognizedlaboratories. Consultants I should also provide Analytical LaboratoryReports along with methodologies and analyticaltechniques used for eachparameter. ix) EnvironmentalManagement Plan (EMP). IdentiS andprepare EMP includingan I implementationschedule and supervision program with associatedcosts and contractingprocedures for the executionof environmentalmitigation and social I issuesfor pre-construction,design, construction and implementationphases. Consultants should also evaluatethe effectivenessof the mitigation measuresproposed in the EMP and recommendimprovements if I necessary.Apart from regularcompliance checks the Consultantsshould generate a tabularmatrix for air, water and noiseanalysis, asphalt plant emissions,soil erosion I and contamination,plantation, safety and traffic rules compliancefor construction andoperation phases. The Consultantsshould addressthe cost analysisof training, monitoring activities, environmentalanalysis and activities, resettlement,land and property I acquisition,and mitigation measures. xii) Role of Functionariesand Government AgenciesInvolvement. This section I shouldinclude role of all the functionariesand variable involvement of government agenciesor authoritiesfor the projectaccomplishment.

I xiii) Recommendationand Conclusions.An adequateswnmary should emphasize on the project descriptionand environment,environmental impacts and mitigation I measures,alternatives, socio-cultural and socio economics,public consultationand the resulting issues and recommendations,environmental managementand monitoringplans, economic assessment, recommendation and conclusions. t xiv) Submissionof Reports. The report should be preparedand presentedin strict conformity to IEE/EIA regulations,2000 and Guidelines for preparationand I submissionof IEE/EIA 1997 issuedunder the PakistanEnvironmental Protection Act,1997. (iii) After incorporatingthe commentsfrom NHA, bureau of Environmental I Protection/ProvincialEPAs and donor agenciesConsultants should frnalize the report. I (iv) Consultantsrequired submitting two hard copiesand one soft copy of final EIA reportto NHA. I (v) Must fill and attachthe applicationform for Environmentalapproval under Sec (12) of PakistanEnvironmental Protection Agency (PEPA) Act 1997 I (PEPA- Review of IEE and ElA-ScheduleIV regulations,2000). The form requires information of the description, Location, objective, alternative alignment, topographyand land use of the project.
