The TMG aquifer including Peninsula and Nardouw formations comprises approximately 4000m thick sequence of quartz arenite with outcrop area of 37,000 km 2. Groundwater in the TMG aquifer is characterized by its low TDS and excellent quality. Based on the elements of the TMG hydrodynamic system including boundary conditions of groundwater flow, geology, geomorphology and hydrology, nineteen hydrogeological units were identified, covering the area of 248,000km2.

The Blombos Museum of Archaeology - The Museum is located in Still Bay in the historic de Jagerhuis-opstal at Palinggat. This little specialised museum is dedicated to presenting to the public, the stone age history of the area and specifically, the findings at the Blombos cave and the work carried out by Professor Chris Henshilwood. The displays include descriptive panels and stone tool artefacts of the earlier, middle and later stone age and artefacts from the Blombos cave itself. Visvywers - Built by the Khoi people the visvywers (tidal fish traps) were basic structures built by hand with stones on the beach. Fish were trapped in the half-moon shaped structures as the tide resided. The site was declared a national heritage site and today the ancient fish traps are maintained by a group of locals. The amazing structures are clearly visible from the land and the fish traps still do their job the same as it did hundreds of years ago.     , Department of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Tourism, Western Cape Integrated Tourism Development Framework Introduction Although the Western Cape and Cape Town has over the years been at the forefront of tourism growth in South Africa, the approach to tourism development and planning has been largely ad hoc and uncoordinated. This has resulted in failure to capitalise on resources, duplication of effort, division between the metropolitan area and regional Western Cape and unrealised growth potential. The provincial government of the Western Cape recognises the need to deliver on the strategic approach set out in the White Paper on Tourism in the Western Cape. The “Assessment of Tourism Potential” provides an overview of the current tourism product, markets and infrastructure in the Western Cape. Our analysis reveals abundance of product areas of definite strength and others with unrealised potential.
