BRIEFING MINUTES CITY COUNCIL MEETING JULY 24, 2018

The City Council of the City of Cedar Hill, met in briefing session on Tuesday, July 24, 2018, 6: 00 p. m., T. W. " Turk" Cannady - Cedar Hill Room, 285 Uptown Blvd., Cedar Hill, Texas.

The following members of the City Council were present, to wit: Mayor Rob Franke, Mayor Pro Tem Stephen Mason, and Council Members Daniel C. Haydin, Jr., Wallace Swayze, Chad A. McCurdy, and Clifford Shaw.

Absent: Council Member MaCain

I. Call the meeting to order.

Mayor Franke called the meeting to order at 6: 00 p. m., declaring it an open meeting with a quorum present and the meeting notice was duly posted.

Consider approving the minutes of the July 10, 2018 City Council Meeting.

Receive Quarterly Investment Report for the quarter ended June 30, 2018 Funding Source.

Consider authorizing the Mayor and Police Chief to sign an updated Memorandum of Understanding ( MOU) among the participating local governments for law enforcement incident data sharing via Dallas County Incident Module ( DCIM) Software.

Consider authorizing the Mayor to execute a Master Agreement for Professional Services with Deltatek Engineering and Work Authorization 1 for water and sewer improvements at Lorch Park.

Case No. FP- 75- 2018 - Approve, in accordance with the Planning and Zoning Commission' s recommendation, an application for a final plat for the Ruiz Addition, Lot 1 of Block 1 on property zoned " LR" ( Local Retail District), located on the north side of West Belt Line Road, west of Carrell Street with the approximate address being 1179 West Belt Line Road. III. Cedar Hill ISD update by Superintendent Dr. Billy Snow.

CH 6D Superintendent Dr. Billy Snow provided City Council with a n update on the District' s recent activities and achievements. Dr. Snow also provided information on the District' s upcoming Special Tax Ratification Election.

IV. Briefing on 2017 Parks Bond Projects:

Virginia Weaver Creative Playground

Parks Director Will Ford briefed the City Council on the progress to date on the Virginia Weaver Creative Playground, including a recap of the public input meetings, citizen feedback received and the next steps for this project. Page 5 City Council Briefing Meeting Minutes July 24, 2018

Community Outdoor Swimming Pool

Consultant Lawrence Brandstetter of Brandstetter Carroll Inc., briefed the City Council on the study performed on the Community Outdoor Swimming Pool. Mr. Brandsetter described the methodology used for the study; such as an examination the City' s current operations, conducting a needs assessment, analyzing the current, as well as other possible sites for the pool, and the feedback received from several citizen engagement meetings.

V. Adjourn.

There being no further business, Mayor Pro Tern Mason made a motion to adjourn the briefing session, seconded by Council Member Haydin. The motion passed by unanimous vote, and the meeting adjourned at 7: 17 p. m.
