Capcom’s “ Freedom 2G” Ships 2 Million Units - Much-coveted milestone makes it one of Japan’s top games -

Capcom Co., Ltd. (Capcom) is pleased to announce that " 2G" for the PlayStation®Portable (PSP®) has shipped 2 million units in Japan.

"Monster Hunter Freedom 2G" has become a runaway success thanks to the introduction of exciting new gameplay elements along with the ability to transfer data over from the previous entry in the series, "Monster Hunter Freedom 2". This hot seller surpassed all expectation with its speed in reaching the 2 million mark, and has become an instant hit with fans of the series while also attracting a wealth of new users eager for this exciting entertainment experience. Capcom plans on offering downloadable quests and holding special Monster Hunter events to thank these fans for their support and to attract new users to the exciting world of Monster Hunter.

The "Monster Hunter" franchise is a series of hunting action games centered on epic battles with giant monsters set within a fantastic natural setting. "Monster Hunter Freedom 2G" gives friends the chance to hunt together using the PSP®’s ad hoc mode, and Capcom is grateful that it has been so well received by PSP® owners. Since the release of the first Monster Hunter title in 2004 for the PlayStation®2, the series has sold a total of 7.4 million units (as of April 24, 2008) and is one of our most valued titles at Capcom.
