STUDYING POLITICAL SCIENCE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF MURCIA A PRESENTATION OF THE DEPARTMENT OF POLITICAL SCIENCE AND OF THE DEGREE IN POLITICAL SCIENCE October 2005 ¾ WHY SPEND A YEAR OR A SEMESTRE STUDYING POLITICAL SCIENCE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF MURCIA? The degree in Political Science at the University of Murcia is a 4-years degree that provides a broad and comprehensive set of choices to incoming Erasmus students that may come from various backgrounds: European studies, International Relation, Politics, Public Administration studies, etc. It is characterised by its interdisciplinarity –especially during the first two years- and by its wide focus on various fields of the study of Political Science, Politics, Government, and Administration. The courses offered include topics on European politics, comparative politics, public policy, political behaviour, research methodology, public opinion, Spanish politics, etc. Most courses offer a balanced mixed between traditional lectures and lab and/or reading- discussion sessions. Students can also obtain further skills by enrolling into the practicum scheme the Department of Political Science monitors, which allows them to spend some hours a week working for an NGO, a trade union, or a private firm to get further professional skills, in exchange of some ECTS credits. Specially popular with incoming Erasmus students are the positions offered at the local branch of UNICEF, and at a local NGO dedicated to promote immigrants’ social integration and rights. Additionally, the International Office at the University of Murcia provides great support to students before their arrival with practical issues: accommodation, language courses, course registration, etc. A further advantage of the University of Murcia is its flexibility in terms of the courses students can enroll once they are accepted as an Erasmus exchange student. -

Notes on contributors Abril-Hernández, Ana is an independent Scholar, PhD Cum Laude in Comparative Literature from Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM), Master’s Degree in Literary Studies (UCM), Master’s Degree in Teacher Training for Compulsory Secondary Education, Upper Secondary Education, Vocational Training and Language Teaching (UCM), and Master’s Degree in Literary and Cultural Studies in Great Britain and Anglophone Countries: Literature, Culture, Communication and Translation (Universidad Autónoma de Madrid). Ana’s research follows a semiotic approach to literature and intermedial adaptations of it on different formats. Her publications in different books and journals revolve around the same fields with a special interest in comparative approaches to world literatures. Ahmetspahić, Adisa works as a teaching assistant at the Faculty of Philosophy Zenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina. She teaches Anglophone literature and history courses. She holds a BA degree in English Language and Literature and is currently a graduate student at the Faculty of Philosophy in Sarajevo. She is a member of American Studies Association in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Her research interests encompass identity problems and manifestation of minority groups in the modern era. Carrere, Anaïs since 2016 September a Ph. D student and assistant junior professor at the University Bordeaux-Montaigne at the English Department of the English Studies, member of the CLIMAS laboratory. Her doctoral dissertation focuses on “What language and gender studies might reveal about the conversational style of committed women in the public sphere: a historical and empirical perspective” under the supervision of Jean- Rémi LAPAIRE, a certified professor at the University of Bordeaux Montaigne in English linguistics, cognitive linguistics and gesture studies. -

HSE – Social and Education History Vol. 8 No. 2 June 2019 pp. 170- 195 “Radioenseñanza” an Educational Experience for Adults through Radio in Huelva at the End of Francoism Manuel Jesús Hermosín-Mojeda Begoña Mora-Jaureguialde Universidad de Huelva Abstract ‘Radioenseñanza’ was an interesting experiment carried out in the province of Huelva (Spain) over two academic years before the 1970 education law (Ley General de Educación) was passed. It was organised by the new broadcasting company ‘Radio Popular’ in collaboration with the local administration of the Ministry of Education at the end of the Franco era. This activity was carried out with didactic resources published by ‘Radio ECCA’, which had started broadcasting for educational purposes from the Canary Islands with the Jesuit priest Francisco Villén Lucena a few years before, in 1965.
