Descriptions of the University, its regulations, and its services are included in the sections prior to the program-specific information in the Schools, Departments, and Programs section of the bulletin. Students interested in first-professional programs (MD, JD, LLM, PharmD, or DMD) can ignore much of the bulletin prior to the First-Professional Programs section, but should familiarize themselves with the general information on the University, as well as the section on Campus Facilities & Student Services, and the University-wide policies detailed in Rights and Responsibilities. The Schools of Medicine, Law, Dental Medicine, and Pharmacy appear in the Schools, Departments, and Programs section for programs leading to the graduate and professional advanced degrees as well as in the First-Professional Programs section since these schools offer both types of programs. Faculty are listed by their department or program at the end of the school. Students should note that the listings of requirements and procedures for admissions, registration, and other information listed in the sections prior to the more program-specific information provided in the Schools, Departments, and Programs section of this bulletin represent the minimum requirements and basic procedures. Students should consult the information on their specific school, program, and department for detail on additional or stricter requirements and procedures.

  • Studying Political Science at the University of Murcia
STUDYING POLITICAL SCIENCE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF MURCIA A PRESENTATION OF THE DEPARTMENT OF POLITICAL SCIENCE AND OF THE DEGREE IN POLITICAL SCIENCE October 2005 ¾ WHY SPEND A YEAR OR A SEMESTRE STUDYING POLITICAL SCIENCE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF MURCIA? The degree in Political Science at the University of Murcia is a 4-years degree that provides a broad and comprehensive set of choices to incoming Erasmus students that may come from various backgrounds: European studies, International Relation, Politics, Public Administration studies, etc. It is characterised by its interdisciplinarity –especially during the first two years- and by its wide focus on various fields of the study of Political Science, Politics, Government, and Administration. The courses offered include topics on European politics, comparative politics, public policy, political behaviour, research methodology, public opinion, Spanish politics, etc. Most courses offer a balanced mixed between traditional lectures and lab and/or reading- discussion sessions. Students can also obtain further skills by enrolling into the practicum scheme the Department of Political Science monitors, which allows them to spend some hours a week working for an NGO, a trade union, or a private firm to get further professional skills, in exchange of some ECTS credits. Specially popular with incoming Erasmus students are the positions offered at the local branch of UNICEF, and at a local NGO dedicated to promote immigrants’ social integration and rights. Additionally, the International Office at the University of Murcia provides great support to students before their arrival with practical issues: accommodation, language courses, course registration, etc. A further advantage of the University of Murcia is its flexibility in terms of the courses students can enroll once they are accepted as an Erasmus exchange student.

  • Scholarships for Palestinian Students Offered by the Government of Malta for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Malta
Scholarships for Palestinian Students offered by the Government of Malta for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Malta Call for Applications 2017 The Government of Malta announces the fourth call for applications for Palestinian students wishing to pursue post-graduate studies at the University of Malta. The Scholarships are designed to facilitate the formation of young Palestinian professionals in two key areas which have become increasingly recognised as critical pillars for the creation of a more sustainable future for Palestine, namely humanitarian action, and cultural heritage. Malta is an ideal meeting point for the realization of this goal, not only because of the relevant expertise it offers in these two sectors, but also because of the strong historic and cultural ties it enjoys with the Arab world as well as with Europe. Objective The specialised formation of young and promising Palestinian citizens is an important pillar for the ongoing capacity-building efforts in Palestine. Two of the emerging sectors where more young professionals are needed on the ground are humanitarian action, and the conservation and management of cultural heritage. An investment in the specialised formation of professionals in these two sectors is an investment in the future of Palestine, with a better and more sustainable quality of life for its citizens. Why sponsor students in Conservation and Management of Cultural Heritage? The main objective of the international community's engagement in Palestine is the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian State living side by side in peace and security with the State of Israel. Cultural heritage is widely recognised as a powerful medium for the formation of a sense of identity, civic pride and community regeneration.
