Work/ Study/ RugbyBalance Hereat the UQRAwe are realisticwith players as to the opportunitiesRugby can provideand the competitivenature of professionalrugby. As suchplayers are encouraged to studyor workoutside of theirtraining schedules to ensurethat they have something to fallback on in the eventthat they don'tmake it as a professionalrugby player. We appreciatethat study and work requirements don't offer the flexibilityof ourtraining schedule so we aftemptto provideplayers with the flexibility within their programs to ensurethat a balanceis achievedbetween the two. Manyhouseslflats are rentedunfurnished or partlyfurnished. lt is alsocommon in a share householdto findthe flatfurnished except for the bedroom;so at minimum, you may havea one timeexpense of purchasinga bed, mattress, desk, lamp and perhapsdresser and wardrobe. Initial expensesalso include bedding, towels and kitchenutensils.

Someunfurnished houses and flats may alsoneed refrigerators or washingmachines. lt is commonin sharehouseholds for severalpeople to sharethe costof hiringlarge appliances, but thiscan add an extra$15 to $20to eachof yourweeklyaccommodation expenses.

Transport

Estimate$20 per weekfor publictransport

For UQRAplayers it is wiseto findaccommodation that is on oneof the Universitybus routes,or whichconnects to the WestEnd City Cat ferry,or is on the trainline to Toowong,Indooroopilly or DuttonPark.
