A NOTE TO OUR PATRONS When OCP’s play selection committee was programming the 2021/22 season back in January, we made the decision to start the season with smaller-cast shows since we didn’t know what the pandemic situation would be. We all fell in love with Dear Jack, Dear Louise , a two-person wartime love story based on the courtship of Playwright Ken Ludwig’s parents. It was the perfect show to open our season! We quickly learned that this brand new script (it premiered in late 2019) was not yet available for licensing. Determined not to give up that easily on this beautiful story, Interim Artistic Director Susie Baer Collins wrote to the licensing house asking them to consider OCP for early access and provided a list of reasons to grant us the rights. I am so glad she did because they quickly agreed to license the show to us. OCP is one of only a handful of theatres across the country mounting the production this fall. Additionally, I am excited that OCP donors will have the opportunity to attend a special virtual event with the playwright, Ken Ludwig. (Mr. Ludwig also penned the adaptation of our second show this season, Murder on the Orient Express, opening in our Hawks Mainstage Theatre September 17th.)
